A CNN insider admitted one thing about Donald Trump that no one saw coming

Mar 9, 2023

CNN has been at war with Donald Trump for the past seven years.

There is a clear victor in this conflict.

And a CNN insider admitted one thing about Donald Trump that no one saw coming.

Disgraced former CNN President Jeff Zucker – who was forced out under the cloud of scandal – turned the network into an anti-Trump rapid response operation where hosts, guests, and reporters attacked every move Donald Trump made and every word he spoke.

Now a CNN insider admitted the network got one of the biggest stories of the last several years wrong by trying to debunk the COVID lab leak theory because Zucker believed it to be a “Trump talking point.”

The Department of Energy and FBI now admit that the coronavirus pandemic likely began with an accidental – or intentional release – at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

The CNN insider said people at the network now feel shame for promoting Jeff Zucker’s false anti-Trump talking point at the expense of the truth.

“People are slowly waking up from the fog,” the CNN source told Fox News. “It is kind of crazy that we didn’t chase it harder.”

A look back at CNN’s early coverage of the lab leak theory is an embarrassing firehose of falsehoods and misinformation.

On February 18, 2020, CNN published a so-called “facts first” piece attacking Arkansas Republican Senator Tom Cotton for being the first one to float the lab leak theory.

CNN quoted a virologist who said “I have seen no one provide any solid information to support that theory. I think at this point you can draw a line through it and say that didn’t happen.”

In April of 2020, CNN published a story with the headline attacking the lab leak theory by saying “nearly 30% in the US believe a coronavirus theory that’s almost certainly not true.”

“Its origin is up for debate, but it wasn’t made in a lab,” CNN wrote. “There’s still much we don’t know about the coronavirus pandemic, but virus experts agree on one piece of its origin story: The virus likely originated in a bat, not in a Chinese lab.”

In 2021, ex-Centers for Disease Control Director Dr. Robert Redfield – who is an expert in the field – said in an interview with CNN that he believed the coronavirus escaped from the Wuhan lab.

The Twitter account for the now-canceled CNN New Day program accused Redfield of promoting the lab leak theory despite a “lack of clear evidence.”

“Despite a lack of clear evidence, former CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield said in a CNN documentary clip released Friday that he believes the novel coronavirus began transmitting in fall 2019 and that the virus may have originated in a lab in China,” the New Day account read.

The American media and Democrat Party immediately rejected the lab leak theory because Donald Trump was the one who said it was the likely start of the pandemic.

And because Jeff Zucker and everyone at the network wanted to defeat Donald Trump, CNN – a supposed news organization – went all in on lying to people to convince them the truth was a falsehood.
