Democrat Judge Arthur Engoron is not making any pretense about his bias against Donald Trump in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ civil fraud trial.
Former Trump attorney Michael Cohen testified as James’ star witness, and Trump’s lawyers gutted him on the stand and forced him to admit he hated Trump and that he lied in his previous testimony before Congress.
Trump met with reporters and blasted Cohen as a liar and congratulated his lawyer for exposing him.
“Well, he’s been proven to be a liar. Very loudly and clearly who is a felon, convicted felon for lying, went to jail for lying. And this is their only witness,” Trump stated.
Trump ripped James for bringing bogus charges against him for inflating the value of his assets.
“When you think about it, it’s really amazing. We’ve proven that the numbers that they talk about are much higher than they ever imagined. They don’t really know what to do because the numbers are much higher. It’s not even the same,” Trump added.
Trump also ripped the fact that “a person who’s very partisan is sitting alongside” the Judge.
Judge Engoron then stunned the courtroom by demanding Trump take the witness stand, where he then demanded Trump answer if he was referring to his clerk, who he previously mocked as “Chuck Schumer’s girlfriend.”
Trump said his comment was in reference to Cohen, although he did say he believed Judge Engoron’s clerk was biased against him as evidenced by her posing for pictures with Schumer.
“I think she is very biased against us. I think we’ve made that clear,” Trump told the Judge.
Judge Engoron ranted that he didn’t find Trump’s testimony “credible” and then hit him with a $10,000 fine for violating the gag order he imposed that prevented him from criticizing the court staff.
