Talk of impeachment is swirling in Washington, D.C.
The Republican House majority has Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas in its crosshairs for his role in creating the worst border crisis in the country’s history.
Representatives Pat Fallon (R-TX) and Andy Biggs (R-AZ) have both introduced Articles of Impeachment against the Homeland Security Secretary for his dereliction of duty in handling the border.
Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has signaled that he’s open to going down the path towards impeachment for Mayorkas.
Republicans are building their case for impeachment against the embattled Homeland Security Secretary.
But pro-Trump conservatives like Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) want to go directly to the source of the problem and impeach President Joe Biden for the border crisis and other abuses.
Impeaching Joe Biden is the only solution for the border crisis
Former federal prosecutor and National Review contributing editor Andrew McCarthy encouraged House Republicans to impeach Joe Biden for the border crisis.
McCarthy said that impeaching Biden is “the only thing” that can fix the catastrophe unfolding at the southern border.
He added that House Republicans settling on impeaching Alejandro Mayorkas for the border are aiming “too low.”
“You probably don’t want to hear this again, but at this stage, the only thing that might — might — turn the tide and establish a semblance of security at the southern border would be for House Republicans to impeach President Biden for first causing the border crisis and then, over the course of the next two years, willfully exacerbating it, not out of incompetence but because it’s what his radical base demands,” McCarthy wrote in an op-ed.
McCarthy went on to explain that the Supreme Court is powerless to fix the problem, as it must be decided by the states.
“For over a century, judicial rulings and Congressional Democrats have nullified their powers to uphold the rule of law against trespassers,” McCarthy continued. “If the Court won’t help them, the states must rely on Biden, and it is Biden who has quite intentionally left the border defenseless, knowing full well that the states would be besieged.”

Andrew McCarthy said that while impeaching Biden isn’t likely to go anywhere in the Democrat-controlled Senate, it could turn the issue into a potent political weapon.
“That is the last thing to which Biden and Democrats want attention called,” McCarthy said. “Border security is an 80–20 issue, favoring not so much Republicans (who are far from uniformly solid on upholding immigration law) as individual candidates and officials who demonstrate seriousness about it, most of whom happen to be Republicans.”
Impeaching Biden would spotlight the border crisis that Democrats and their media allies have tried so hard to ignore.
Putting illegal immigration front and center would boost Donald Trump’s campaign by bringing attention to his signature issue of border security.
Injecting an overwhelmingly popular issue like border security into the public eye with impeachment hearings would give Trump the ability to use it as a political weapon against Biden.
