2024 promises to be another hard-fought Presidential election.
But now one state could be slipping away from Democrats for a shocking reason.
And a leading Democrat sounded the alarm for Joe Biden in this key swing state.
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is setting up the Presidential Primary to be a coronation for Joe Biden.
The long-standing Democrat Primary calendar was rearranged to protect Biden and promote more racially diverse states.
For the past century, New Hampshire has held the first Presidential Primary in the nation and the second contest after the Iowa Caucus.
The DNC switched its calendar to make South Carolina the first Primary for the Party.
After he struggled in early states like New Hampshire, where he finished fourth, South Carolina was key to Biden’s 2020 Primary victory.
Instead of risking a potential embarrassment to Biden in New Hampshire, Democrats broke long-standing tradition to bump the state out of its top spot.
Democrat activists have clamored for the Party to downgrade Iowa and New Hampshire for more racially diverse states like Nevada and South Carolina.
New Hampshire Democrats take great pride in their “First in the Nation Primary” and that slight by Party leaders could come back to haunt them.
Since state law requires New Hampshire to have the first Primary, the state is holding its Primary the same day as the Republican Party’s.
The DNC is looking to punish New Hampshire Democrats for violating the Party’s calendar.
Biden ally says blunder could put New Hampshire in play
It appears likely that Joe Biden is going to skip the New Hampshire Primary rather than incur the wrath of the DNC.
Representative Ro Khanna (D-CA) is committed to making sure Biden remains in the White House.
He warned that Biden skipping New Hampshire during the Primary “puts the General Election in the state at risk.”
“I believe 2024 is going to be a very close election and I’m on the President’s side 110%,” Khanna told Fox News Digital. “I will be supporting the President regardless of whether he’s on the ballot. I just think he should come up [to New Hampshire] and campaign.”
New Hampshire’s four electoral votes could be crucial in a Presidential election expected to come down to the wire.
Former President Donald Trump only lost the state by 2,700 votes in 2016 and Biden’s approval rating is underwater there.
Khanna said that “the four electoral votes in New Hampshire are going to matter and we certainly should be active in the Primary in the battleground states. It would be a mistake to allow [former President Donald] Trump and [Florida Governor Ron] DeSantis to suck all the oxygen and for us not to be making our case in key battleground states about the President’s re-election.”
Trump can begin building support for the General Election in New Hampshire during the Primary while Biden is nowhere to be seen.
Joe Biden and the DNC’s decision to rearrange their Primary calendar could end up being a costly unforced error.
