The GOP establishment is hoping that the indictments against Donald Trump will end his campaign.
That’s because they know they can’t beat him at the ballot box.
And a Senate RINO just betrayed conservatives by giving Donald Trump this 2024 ultimatum.
Rogue Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis hit former President Donald Trump with his fourth criminal indictment for contesting the results of the 2020 election in Georgia.
Democrats are waging unprecedented lawfare against Trump to derail his bid to return to the White House.
The Republican establishment could barely contain their glee at the news of the fourth indictment.
Trump is leading the Republican Primary by an overwhelming margin.
Legal woes are the only thing that could come between Trump and the GOP nomination at this juncture in the horse race.
The establishment is looking for a miracle to keep Trump from becoming the nominee.
One of the worst RINOs in the Senate used the latest indictment to call for Trump to drop his Presidential bid.
RINO Bill Cassidy tells Trump to drop out of the Presidential race
Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) has been after Trump since he voted to convict him during the second impeachment hoax over January 6.
He appeared on CNN’s State of the Union where he was asked if Trump should throw in the towel after his fourth indictment.
“I think so,” Cassidy said. “But obviously, that’s up to him. I mean, you’re just asking me my opinion. But he will lose to Joe Biden if you look at the current polls.”
CNN says Trump is in a stronger position today than 2020
Trump is leading or is within the margin of error on most polls against President Joe Biden at the national level and in key battleground states.
The growing number of indictments has not translated into any statistically significant decrease in support from recent polls.
CNN’s Harry Enten said Trump is in a “stronger position” today in polling against Biden than he was at any point during the 2020 election.
“The polling indicates that Trump is, in fact, in a stronger position at this point than he was during the entire 2020 campaign, according to the national polls. If we had state-level polling, I wouldn’t even be surprised if Trump were ahead in the swing states that are most important,” Enten said.
Cassidy tries to run damage control
Cassidy does not have to face the voters in a Republican Primary in a state that Trump carried by nearly 20 points until 2026.
Despite telling the Party’s leading candidate to drop out because of a Democrat witch hunt, he still tried to portray himself as a loyal Republican.
“I think Joe Biden needs to be replaced, but I don’t think Americans will vote for someone who’s been convicted,” Cassidy said. “I’m a Republican. I think any Republican on that stage in Milwaukee would do a better job than Joe Biden, and so I want one of them to win.”
Since the GOP establishment knows they can’t wrestle away control of the Party from Trump, they’re hoping the legal system will do the job for them.
