The media will owe Donald Trump an apology.
It turns out Trump was more right than he knew.
And a smoking gun document just showed how Donald Trump was right about 2020.
Trump has long argued that there was funny business in the 2020 election.
Now a new report from the Capitol Research Center (CRC) links former Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta to a shadowy 501c(3) group that may have violated federal campaign finance law with a secret Democrat Party get-out-the-vote operation in the 2020 election.
The scheme began with a memo promoting “Everybody Votes” from the well-funded pro-Democrat Super PAC Mind the Gap, which announced plans to spend $140 million in 2020 to defeat Donald Trump.
According to the CRC memo, “Everybody Votes” was really code for the Voter Registration Project (VRP) – a 501c(3) charity commissioned by Podesta.
501c(3)’s allow Americans to make tax-deductible donations to these groups, but the catch is that they can’t engage in politics.
But the memo from Mind the Gap pushed the VRP as a vehicle to register voters from demographics highly likely to vote for Democrats.
“The most effective tactic in a Presidential year by a wide margin is nonpartisan voter registration focused on underrepresented groups in our electoral process,” the memo read.
According to the CRC report, Everybody Votes made good on that promise.
“Everybody Votes registered 5.1 million voters, 76% of whom were ‘people of color,’ since its inception in 2015, according to its website. Further, 56% were women, and 46% were under 35 years old,” the Daily Caller reports.
The effort to register Democrat voters using tax-deductible contributions may have provided Joe Biden the margin of victory in this election.
“VRP provided Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden between 1 million and 2.7 million votes,” the Daily Caller reported.
Joe Biden only won the Electoral College by 44,000 votes across Arizona, Georgia, and Wisconsin.
The VRP’s voter registration effort, which could have been illegal and definitely runs afoul of the spirit of the law, may have proved to be decisive.
“Encouraging qualified voters to exercise their right to vote is a noble purpose, served by legitimate nonpartisan, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders around the country,” Lawyers Democracy Fund Executive Director Lisa Dixon told the Daily Caller. “But when supposedly nonpartisan organizations conduct get-out-the-vote efforts in a manner that seems designed to benefit one political party, voters are rightly skeptical of how fair and nonpartisan such efforts are.”
