The NFL is the most popular sport in the country.
But they don’t treat all of their fans equally.
And an NFL team was forced to apologize to a Trump supporter for this awful decision.
Arizona Cardinals fan forced to throw away her MAGA hat by stadium personal
Make America Great Again (MAGA) hats have been a symbol of former President Donald Trump’s movement since 2015.
The MAGA hat has come to be despised by the Left.
Susan Rosener and her husband have been season ticket holders for the Arizona Cardinals for 34 years.
The couple was looking forward to the Cardinals home opener against the Los Angeles Rams at State Farm Stadium.
Rosener wore her MAGA hat to the game, and as she was trying to enter the stadium, she was stopped by a member of the security crew.
The security staffer told her that she had to remove her hat because “political hats or shirts” are banned at State Farm Stadium.
“She’s like, ‘No political hats or shirts.’ And I said, ‘I haven’t heard that at all.’ And I said, ‘That doesn’t make sense to me.’ And she goes, ‘I said, take your hat off,’” Rosener said.
Rosener had been a season ticket holder for more than three decades and never heard of that stadium policy.
But she went ahead and honored the request.
“In retrospect, I wish I would have stood my ground a little bit, but I wasn’t sure what the repercussions would be, and my husband would kill me if I did something with the season tickets or that jeopardizes them somehow,” Rosener told News 12.
Rosener was told that she had to throw the hat away in a trash can to enter the game.
Arizona Cardinals apologize for alleged mistake
It turned out that political attire wasn’t on the prohibited list for State Farm Stadium.
Only clothing that is considered “obscene or indecent in a public setting” or “any item deemed inappropriate or hazardous by stadium security” would be prohibited.
The Cardinals claimed that the security staffer who stopped Rosener misunderstood the stadium’s policies.
“In an isolated incident at Sunday’s game, a stadium security member misunderstood a policy on prohibited items. Like most venues, ‘signage, posters, flags, or displays that are . . . political in nature’ are not permitted. However, that did not apply in this instance. Moving forward we will work to provide clarity to all stadium personnel in these situations. We have also reached out to the individual involved to communicate that their experience was not consistent with our policies and practices and to apologize for that,” the Cardinals said in a statement.
The team claimed it was an isolated incident, but Turning Point Action Field Rep Vice President Alyssa Goncales posted on social media that she heard reports from others who attended the game that it happened to them.
Rosener thought anyone should be able to wear political attire at the game.
“I am super freedom of speech. I could care less if someone had a Kamala Harris hat or T-shirt on,” Rosener said. “I do feel like part of the problem was this security woman definitely had a bias with my hat.”
The Left is trying to turn every place into a political battlefield.
In response, Goncales and Rosener showed up to the game this weekend handing out MAGA hats to fans.
The beautiful and amazing @RosenerSj58029 came to help us hand out MAGA hats today at the @AZCardinals game!
She is the one that had to throw her MAGA hat in the trash last week. I just loved having her with us today!! pic.twitter.com/YZX5GJizZj
