Chris Christie used to be one of the biggest names in the GOP establishment.
But Donald Trump exposed Christie as an establishment hack.
And Chris Christie melted down and shed a few tears after finding himself in the crosshairs of Donald Trump.
Establishment Republicans thrive on relevance
You can generally tell when someone’s going to be a sellout for Republicans before they even have the opportunity to cast a vote.
The establishment loves to hand-pick Republican politicians who they know will sell out the conservative base.
Back in the early 2000s, John McCain was the hottest thing on the market for the establishment Republican class.
Then, just a few short years later, the establishment couldn’t get enough of Mitt Romney.
Many were calling him the next best Presidential candidate since Ronald Reagan.
And in 2016, the establishment begged the Republican base to vote for several upcoming politicians who would sell out conservatives.
But voters saw through the lies and decided to go with Donald Trump.
And, like clockwork, all the same candidates who the establishment put out there started backing Donald Trump and looking for a position in his administration.
One of those establishment Republicans was Chris Christie.
Chris Christie lashes out at Trump
Many remember Chris Christie for either being the Governor of New Jersey or for doing the truffle shuffle on Jimmy Fallon.
Christie thinks he is a hot political commodity, but in reality he has never garnished much support beyond the Republican establishment.
Even though he was one of the first candidates to throw his hat in the ring for the 2016 GOP Primary, Chris Christie failed to get one Republican electoral vote.
Republican voters could see right through his lies and empty promises.
But being the good Swamp creature that he is, Chris Christie came running to President Trump for any position he could get in order to try and stay relevant in Republican politics.
Donald Trump gave Christie a position on his Presidential transition team.
Then, in 2020, President Trump even let Chris Christie prep him for the debates against Joe Biden.
But Chris Christie never played a major role in President Trump’s administration, which infuriated the former Governor.
And now Chris Christie says that the Republican Party will lose in 2024 if Trump is the nominee.
But Donald Trump called out Chris Christie for twisting the truth, leading him to lash out at the former President on Twitter..
“I’m the target of Donald Trump’s new tantrum. None of his lies about me today bothered him when he asked me to prep him for every general election debate or offered me 3 different cabinet posts. He’s the only man to lose to Biden outside Delaware. That loss to Joe still stings,” Christie wrote.

That’s a lot of talk from Chris Christie, especially since he couldn’t muster up enough support within the Republican Party to win one delegate vote.
Even Carly Fiorina did better than Chris Christie in the 2016 Republican Primary.
