Democrats are throwing the kitchen sink at Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
But their latest smear campaign had one major problem.
And Clarence Thomas was grinning from ear to ear after this hit job collapsed in epic fashion.
Democrats are seething with rage over the fact that the conservative majority on the Supreme Court is ruling based on the Constitution instead of left-wing judicial activism.
Justice Clarence Thomas and the Court handed Democrats a series of crushing defeats on abortion, gun rights, and affirmative action.
Democrats and their media allies are lashing out at Thomas with a vicious smear campaign from a news outlet funded by globalist billionaires called ProPublica.
In April, ProPublica launched a series of hit pieces against Thomas that smeared him as being corrupt because he accepted a paid vacation with his longtime friend and Republican donor Harlan Crow.
Their story cited Democrat activists masquerading as judicial ethics experts as well as a retired federal judge who was appointed by former President Bill Clinton.
These so-called experts had donated more than $100,000 to Democrat candidates over the years, including President Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton.
ProPublica’s reporting failed to mention that former Clinton-appointed Justice Stephen Breyer took at least 17 trips that were paid for by Democrat megadonors.
Receiving hospitality provided by friends is not a violation of the Court’s ethics rules.
Thomas was investigated for his relationship with Crow in 2011 and cleared of any wrongdoing, but the hit piece neglected this important fact.
ProPublica manufactured a phony scandal and Democrats in Congress ran with it.
Thomas is facing calls for impeachment and a Justice Department investigation from Democrats like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).
The attacks on him are ramping up once again with another hit job from ProPublica that claims Thomas received improper gifts from Republican donors.
Smear campaign against Clarence Thomas exposed as a total fabrication
ProPublica ran another attack piece against Clarence Thomas over his relationship with three of his friends: Tony Novelly, David Sokol, and Wayne Huizenga.
The article claimed that Thomas took “a previously unreported voyage on a yacht around the Bahamas” that was owned by Novelly.
But according to Thomas and Novelly, this was a completely made-up story.
Thomas said that he has not been to the Bahamas since before he was appointed to the Supreme Court and has never traveled on the yacht.
Novelly’s organization said its records found that Thomas had never been aboard the yacht.
ProPublica said that Thomas received an invitation from Huizenga to his “exclusive, members-only golf club,” but left out several important details.
Thomas does not play golf and declined the invitation.
He had lunch with Huizenga at the golf club when he visited Florida with his wife to see her parents.
Thomas was also accused of failing to report a gift when he attended a Nebraska Cornhuskers football game with Sokol.
The cost of a ticket for his seat at the game was $65 according to university records, which is well below the reporting threshold of $415.
Since ProPublica can’t find anything legitimate on Thomas, they’re resorting to blatant lies to try and fuel the campaign to remove him from the Supreme Court.
