Coast Guard officials were shocked into silence by what they saw a Florida man doing across the Atlantic

The ocean can be a very strange place.

The Lord only knows what you might find in the open waters.

And Coast Guard officials were shocked into silence by what they saw a Florida man doing across the Atlantic.

The Wild Seas

As man has conquered the world, the mysteries surrounding us have been dwindling.

Mankind has been to nearly every corner of the world and seen nearly every God-made wonder as we conquer virtually every species out there.

But even with the thousand years of conquest by humans, the great wide-open oceans are still very mysterious.

Throughout the ages, we’ve heard stories about sea monsters and insane weather events happening at sea.

Even in various areas of the ocean, like the Bermuda Triangle, mysterious things happen on a daily basis.

And there are still areas across the sea which we have not even explored.

So, you never really know what you might face when you go out in the open sea.

But the Coast Guard learned the hard way that the most shocking results happen when a Florida man meets the great mysterious wild seas.

Florida Man takes on the Sea. . .  In a hamster wheel

On August 26, the Coast Guard spotted an unusual vessel in the middle of the Atlantic.

70 miles off the coast of Tybee Island, Georgia, was a guy in a homemade water vessel that looked like a hamster wheel.

When they got closer, they realized the vessel was literally a hamster wheel with a man inside.

The vessel was deemed unsafe for travel by the Coast Guard

Ultimately, the man was charged with having a vessel without the proper permits.

According to the criminal complaint, “based on the condition of the vessel – which was afloat as a result of wiring and buoys – USCG officers determined Baluchi was conducting a manifestly unsafe voyage.”

But during their investigation they found out that the man was from Florida and was in the floating hamster wheel because he intended to run across the Atlantic to London.

When the man was asked to end his brave voyage across the Atlantic, he went absolutely berserk.

He pulled out a 12-inch knife and threatened to take his own life, not to mention that he claimed he had a bomb on board.

But after making such claims for days, the Florida man was arrested on September 1 for multiple criminal charges.

A local news agency in Florida was able to catch up to the man who claimed that he was running to London for charity.

“My goal is to not only raise money for homeless people, raise money for the Coast Guard, raise money for the police department, raise money for the fire department.,” he said. “They are in public service, they do it for safety, and they help other people.”

Leave it to a Florida man to think that it’s a good idea to “run” across the Atlantic in a homemade hamster wheel.

Would you make a voyage across the Atlantic?
