Democrats were totally blindsided.
There is bigtime trouble brewing.
And Democrats got a huge wakeup call from the last place they ever expected.
Governor Gavin Newsom signed two bills that encouraged minor children to travel to California for transgender surgeries if their home states banned doctors from mutilating their bodies and that allowed schools to keep secret from parents if their children changed their gender identity at school.
It’s not surprising that parents are mobilizing against the gender identity insanity out in California.
But what is surprising is who is leading the charge – rank-and-file Democrat voters.
Co-founder of Protect Kids California, Erin Friday, appeared on Fox News to discuss the ballot initiatives her group sponsored that will go before the voters to ban transgender surgeries for minor children, ban biological males from playing girls’ sports, and guarantee the rights of parents to know if their children change their gender identity in school.
Polls show 70 percent of Americans oppose allowing biological males to compete in girls’ sports and a solid majority also oppose transgender surgeries for minor children.
Friday went on Fox News to deliver a warning to her party that elected Democrats are out of step with parents as well as their party’s own voters by siding with woke activists promoting transgenderism to children in schools and society at large.
“Parents are losing their rights regardless of what party they’re from,” Friday began.
Friday explained she had firsthand experience with the dangerous phenomenon as school officials secretly transitioned her child.
“This came to visit my house, my child was secretly transitioned by her public school, so I know personally how important it is for parents to be involved in their children’s decisions,” Friday added.
Co-host Griff Jenkins asked Friday about the political makeup of her group.
“Talking with your fellow Democrats in California, are you finding there’s a bit of a silent majority among Democrats that feel the way you feel about this?” Jenkins asked.
Friday confirmed that her group is overwhelmingly made up of Democrats who are upset that the party is siding with the woke mob over the interests and rights of parents to raise their children.
“Absolutely,” Friday stated. “I run a parent group and about 80% of these parents are Democrats.”
“The party is just not listening to us,” Friday added. “They want to frame this in a right versus left, and this is about child safeguarding. It has nothing to do with party affiliation whatsoever.”
