Donald Trump is trying to put the Republican Presidential Primary on ice.
Trump took a big step in that direction.
And Donald Trump blindsided Ron DeSantis with this major victory.
As Donald Trump continues to grow his polling lead over Ron DeSantis, his latest endorsement hits close to home for the Florida Governor.
Randy Fine is the only Jewish Republican in the Florida State Senate.
Fine initially endorsed DeSantis’ Presidential campaign.
But in the wake of the October 7 Hamas terrorist attack on Israel, Fine felt compelled to switch his endorsement to Trump.
In an op-ed published in the Washington Times, Fine explained how foreign policy was now a central issue in the 2024 election.
Fine explained that while Ron DeSantis says the right things, Donald Trump owns a proven record of accomplishment through his America First foreign policy.
Fine wrote that while every Republican Presidential candidate talked about moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, Trump actually followed through on it.
“Donald Trump didn’t just talk about moving the Embassy. He did it,” Fine wrote.
Fine also pointed out that Trump signed peace deals between Israel and its Arab neighbors.
“Donald Trump didn’t just talk about peace. He signed the Abraham Accords. He deserved a Nobel Peace Prize for it,” Fine added.
Trump didn’t start any new wars in the Middle East and Trump’s policy of peace through strength also meant that Islamic nations in the region weren’t attacking Israel.
“When he was President, Islamic countries weren’t attacking Jews over there; neo-Nazis were not attacking Jews over here because they feared him,” Fine continued.
“The past two weeks have made me realize our choice as Jews is simple. We can vote for the Governor who says all the right things, or we can vote for the President who actually does them. When it comes to action, Donald Trump has never let us down,” Fine concluded.
It’s becoming harder and harder to argue that the GOP Presidential nomination is even a race.
Real Clear Politics shows Trump holding a 45-point lead over DeSantis nationally.
Even in DeSantis’ home state of Florida, where he romped to a historic 19-point re-election win, polls show Trump leading the state’s sitting Governor by 35 points.
And just to pour salt in the wound, a key DeSantis backer just flipped to Trump.
