Donald Trump could not believe which former ally plans to challenge him in 2024

Jan 20, 2023

There will be a contested Republican Presidential primary.

But no one ever expected one candidate to enter.

And Donald Trump could not believe which former ally plans to challenge him in 2024.

RINO former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley strongly hinted in an interview with Fox News Channel’s Brett Baier that she plans to announce her Presidential campaign in the very near future.

“Well, when you’re looking at a run for President, you look at two things. You first look at ‘Does the current situation push for new?’ The second question is, ‘Am I that person that could be that new leader?’ You know, on the first question, you can look all across the board, domestic, foreign policy,” Baier began.

Haley – who also served as Donald Trump’s U.N. Ambassador – answered in a way that sounded a lot like a prospective Presidential candidate.

“You can look at, you know, inflation going up, economy shrinking, government getting bigger, you know, small business owners not being able to pay their rent. Big businesses getting these bailouts, all of these things warrant the fact that, yes, we need to go in a new direction,” Haley responded.

Haley then boasted that she never lost an election as an example of the supposedly fearsome political prowess she would bring to the race.

“So do I think I could be that leader? Yes, But we are still working through things and we’ll figure it out. I’ve never lost a race. I said that then I still say that now. I’m not going to lose now, stay tuned,” Haley added.

Baier asked if that meant Haley was ready to form an exploratory committee and begin taking all the steps to enter the race.

Haley did not waive Baier off that trail.

“I think, stay tuned,” Haley shot back.

Conservatives have long distrusted Haley.

Haley delivered the GOP response to Barack Obama’s 2016 State of the Union speech where Haley used her time to attack Donald Trump as an “angry” voice for wanting to build a wall and shut down illegal immigration.

When Haley served in the administration, she constantly undercut Trump’s America First foreign policy by leaking to the press about how she supported a John McCain/Liz Cheney-style hawkish approach to world affairs.

If Haley runs for President in 2024, she will also be going back on her word.

In April 2021 Haley responded “yes” when asked if she would back a third Presidential run by Donald Trump.

Polling shows Nikki Haley in the low single digits in the 2024 GOP Presidential field.

Republicans recognize that Haley is a figure from the Bush-wing of the party who wants to take the GOP back to the days of Mitt Romney.
