In a video posted to his Truth Social account, Donald Trump took aim at the lackluster and heartless response by Joe Biden to the wildfires in Maui.
The death toll sits at 99 but is expected to rise significantly as authorities sort through the damage over the next several days.
Biden has been on vacation for nearly two weeks at his Delaware beach house and his only public statement about his fellow Americans dying in a wildfire was “no comment.”
Trump blasted Biden for this callus treatment of the very people he claims to look out for.
“When asked about it today, as he was getting into a car, perhaps coming home from the beach, where he has been spending a great deal of time, crooked Joe Biden, the most incompetent President in the history of our country, with a laugh and a smile said he had no comment on the death and the tragedy,” Trump stated.
Trump linked Biden’s indifference to the Maui wildfires to his refusal to visit East Palestine, Ohio, where a train derailment spilled toxic chemicals into the air, soil, and water.
“To say no comment is oftentimes fine, but to be smiling when you say it, especially against such a tragedy as this, is absolutely horrible and unacceptable,” Trump added. “It is a disgraceful thing that Joe Biden refuses to help or comment on the tragedy in Maui, just as he refused to help or comment on the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio for a very, very long time.”
Trump also tore into the Hawaii Governor for baselessly linking the wildfires to global warming in an attempt by the Democrat Party to never let a crisis go to waste.
“The sad thing is, it should never have happened,” Trump continued. “Our government was not prepared. And very importantly, the aftermath is going very poorly with the Governor of the island wanting to do nothing but blame it on global warming, and other things that just happen to pop into his head.”
During the 2020 campaign, the media falsely claimed that Joe Biden’s biggest political strength was his empathy.
That fiction was a 100 percent media creation, as Joe Biden’s actions in office have demonstrated a cruel apathy towards the suffering of his fellow Americans.
