Kamala Harris campaign and media try to smear Trump as an ally to the KKK
Michigan is one of the seven critical battlegrounds that will decide the 2024 election.
It’s only natural that Donald Trump would campaign there while Kamala Harris stages her convention in Chicago.
Trump was set for a visit to Howell, Michigan, where he campaigned with law enforcement and hammered Kamala Harris’ failed record on crime, immigration, and the economy.
Kamala’s campaign and its press allies tried to turn Howell into the story by making it out like it was a hotbed of Klu Klux Klan activity.
Campaign Communications Director Alyssa Bradley released a statement trying to argue that since Trump campaigned in Howell, he essentially endorsed the Klan.
“This [Tuesday] event on ‘crime and safety’ isn’t a dog whistle from Trump — it’s a bullhorn,” Bradley’s statement read.
“His visit underscores the core choice in this election — between a prosecutor and a criminal, someone who has spent her life making communities safer and someone who encourages violence, and someone who will build a future where all Michiganders can get ahead and someone who wants to take us back to the days of the KKK,” Bradley continued.
ABC’s Linsey Davis – who will moderate the September 17 debate between Kamala and Trump – also played up this fake narrative of Trump supporting the KKK in an interview with Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

Trump campaign responds
Donald Trump delivered one of his best media smackdowns ever when responding to this fake story.
A reporter asked Trump about the Klu Klux Klan marching in Howell and why he would campaign in a city supposedly “linked to white supremacy.”
Trump had a simple response by asking the reporter who held an event in Howell in 2021.
When the reporter replied that Joe Biden did, all Trump had to do was say, “Thank you,” and walk away.

Campaign Spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt also released a statement doubling down on calling out the media and Kamala campaign for trying to lie about Donald Trump and Howell.
“Did the media write this same story when Joe Biden visited Howell in 2021, or when Kamala Harris visits cities where racist protests and marches have occurred in the past? No, of course not, because the mainstream serves as a divisive, anti-Trump, mouthpiece for the Democrat Party,” Leavitt wrote.
Republicans will always fight the media as well as their Democrat opponent.
But in this campaign, the press is more unhinged than ever since they view it as their final battle with Donald Trump.
