Donald Trump is marching towards the GOP nomination.
But something unexpected happened along the way.
And Donald Trump found out one massive 2024 game changer from Sean Hannity.
In 2016, Ted Cruz finished as the runner up to Donald Trump in the GOP Primary.
Bad feelings developed, and Cruz refused to endorse Trump during his speech at the convention, where he told Republicans to “vote their conscience” in the General Election.
Cruz then turned into one of Trump’s closest allies in the Senate.
And now Cruz is hoping to help Trump close the door on the GOP Primary by endorsing him.
Cruz went on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show the night after the Iowa Caucus to announce his support for Trump.
“[Iowa] was a dominating victory for Donald Trump: I’ve got to say, there’s no place like the Iowa Caucuses. I know it intimately. The men and women of Iowa, they take their responsibility incredibly seriously. They scrutinize the candidates,” Cruz said in reference to his 2016 Iowa Caucus victory.
Cruz explained that Trump’s overwhelming victory – he thrashed his opponents by 30 points – clearly showed that GOP voters are standing with Donald Trump, and thus continuing the Primary would only serve to waste time and resources.
“It’s an amazing process, and I’m a big believer in letting democracy play out. Well, last night it played out, and I got to say Trump’s victory was across the board… Congratulations to President Trump on that dominating victory. And at this point, I believe this race is over,” Cruz added.
“I’m a big believer we need to let the process play out: It did. And the results last night: 51% [of the vote, which included] 98 counties – that’s compelling. And at this point, I think the contrast needs to be on substance and policy and records,” Cruz continued.
Cruz then offered a full-throated endorsement of Trump.
“I am proud to endorse Donald Trump for President of the United States. I look forward to supporting him enthusiastically,” Cruz concluded.

Ron DeSantis’ campaign is out of funds and is bleeding support down to the single digits in polls of New Hampshire and South Carolina.
Nikki Haley’s base of support is Democrats who can vote in GOP Primaries.
Since there is no viable alternative to Trump, conservatives like Ted Cruz would like to see this process come to a close as quickly as possible.
