Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris for President.
Democrats thought, since Swift is the biggest pop star on the planet, that her endorsement was the final nail in Donald Trump’s coffin.
And Donald Trump got the last laugh over Taylor Swift with one big victory.
Taylor Swift endorsement backfires
Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris following the debate with Donald Trump.
“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election,” Swift wrote on Instagram. “I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”
Swift explained she endorsed Kamala Harris because of Kamala’s support for abortion on demand and the transgender ideology.
Donald Trump fired back, posting “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” on his Truth Social platform.
Liberal pundits – and even some conservatives – mocked Trump for picking a fight with a singer who just sold $1 billion worth of concert tickets.
Donald Trump is more popular than Taylor Swift
Democrats and the media assumed that Swift was this transcendental, super popular figure because of her fame.
But Democrats vastly overestimated Taylor Swift’s appeal.
According to the most recent New York Times/Siena poll, more Americans have a favorable view of Donald Trump than Taylor Swift.
Swift’s favorability rating clocks in at 44 percent.
“Just 44% of Americans had a favorable opinion of Swift, according to a poll conducted by The New York Times, Philadelphia Inquirer, and Siena College between Sept. 11 and Sept. 16,” Mediaite reports.
“Thirty-four percent of Americans have an unfavorable opinion of Swift, while 22% do not know how to feel about the popular musician,” the Mediaite report continued.
Trump, on the other hand, is viewed favorably by 47 percent of Americans.
“According to the same poll, Trump has a higher favorability rating among American voters than Swift. 47% of Americans have a favorable opinion of Trump,” Mediaite also reported.
Swift is even more unpopular in the battleground states
A Victory Insights poll of North Carolina found 40 percent of voters had negative feelings toward Swift with just 30 percent reporting a positive view.
“Asked to rate Swift on a scale of 1 to 5, 30% of respondents rated her a ‘1, which corresponds to an ‘extremely negative’ read on the chart-topping singer,” the New York Post reported.
“An additional 9% rate her as a ‘2,’ which translates to a less extreme antipathy,” the New York Post added.
Democrats thought Taylor Swift’s endorsement would be the biggest in the history of American politics.
But with poll numbers like these, it looks like Taylor Swift turns off more voters than she attracts.
