A Pew survey after the 2020 election found that Donald Trump won 38 percent of the Hispanic vote, which was the most by any Republican since 2004.
In 2022, the GOP won 39 percent of the Hispanic vote.
This was the highest percentage of the Latino vote captured by Republicans in a Midterm election in recent memory.
Trump and his team plan to swing states like Arizona and Nevada back Red, while putting Florida and Texas out of reach through a Hispanic outreach program.
Axios reports that Trump’s campaign plans to target voters from Cuba and South American countries who immigrated to America with the message that he is the victim of the same type of socialist tyrants who drove them out of their home countries.
“Former President Trump’s team is trying to build on the GOP’s recent gains among Latinos with a strategy in Florida that’s aimed at voters of Cuban, Venezuelan, and Colombian descent — and that casts Trump as a victim of overzealous socialists,” Axios reported.
Trump previewed this campaign strategy at a rally in Hialeah, Florida – a community that is 95 percent Hispanic – when he compared Joe Biden weaponizing the government against him to how the Castro regime unleashed the secret police and corrupt judges to jail political opposition.
“At the rally, Trump portrayed his ‘persecution’ on felony charges — and what he called his resistance to communism — as similar to what many Cuban Americans and their families experienced during the communist regime of Fidel Castro,” Axios also reported.
Trump’s team also plans to run Spanish speaking ads promoting his border and economic policies.
The Trump campaign’s strategy is already bearing fruit.
A New York Times/Siena poll of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin found Biden narrowly leading Trump 50 to 46 among Latinos.
CBS/YouGuv’s latest survey found a majority of Hispanics said their personal finances were better under Trump than Joe Biden.
Joe Biden believed weaponizing the government so Democrat prosecutors could bring felony charges against Donald Trump would prove to be his electoral saving grace.
But it may prove to be the Democrat Party’s undoing.
