Donald Trump has one secret weapon that is going to upend the election

Aug 9, 2024

Donald Trump is looking to bury Kamala Harris after she entered the race.

He’s trying to get a crucial edge in key swing states.

And Donald Trump has one secret weapon that is going to upend the election.

Effort launched to mobilize hunters and gun owners in swing states

The Presidential election is going to be decided in a handful of closely divided swing states around the country.

A whole pool of untapped Republican-leaning voters in these states is being organized and mobilized for the election.

Gun sales have surged across the country since the pandemic.

A large pool of gun owners who aren’t registered to vote or engaged in the political process.

That’s why efforts are underway to turn them out for the November election.

The U.S. Concealed Carry Association for Saving Lives Action Fund (USCCA-FSL Action Fund) launched a grassroots get-out-the-vote initiative to register gun owners and help them make a plan to vote.

An online effort is paired with in-person events in key states.

“The Second Amendment is on the ballot in November – not only at the top of the ticket, but also in state and local elections,” USCCA-FSL Action Fund Executive Director Katie Pointer Baney said. “Responsible gun owners have an obligation to turn out in record numbers this cycle.”

There is a stark contrast between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris on the Second Amendment.

Baney said that many gun owners live in areas where they’re a way of life and not a hot-button political issue.

“I think our charge is really to say, ‘You’re right, we agree firearm ownership shouldn’t be a partisan or political issue, but at the end of the day, you have candidates and folks who don’t believe in your fundamental right to own a firearm,’” Baney explained. “They don’t believe in your ability to carry it or to protect yourself or to protect your families, and so you need to get involved in both in order to protect that right.”

Hunters are being mobilized for the election

Vote4America launched a similar effort aimed at hunters in swing states.

The group estimated that nearly 10 million gun owners and hunters aren’t registered to vote.

Hunters in swing states could make a crucial difference this year.

Vote4America found that roughly 515,000 hunters and gun owners in Pennsylvania weren’t registered to vote.

Wisconsin has nearly 338,000 unregistered.

The 2020 Election in Wisconsin was decided by roughly 20,000 votes.

Vote4America advisor Baker Leavitt explained that mobilizing a small fraction of these hunters and gun owners could make a massive impact in November during an appearance on the District of Conservation podcast.

“If we could convert 2% of all licensed hunters and get them to vote, GOP would win in a landslide,” Leavitt stated.

The group is registering hunters to vote and helping them understand they can make a difference in the direction of the country.

In swing states that come down to the wire, this large group of untapped voters could give Trump an edge.
