Donald Trump is heading back to the Capital sooner than you think

Jul 19, 2022

When speaking to his legions of supporters at political rallies, it’s not uncommon for former President Donald Trump to ask, “do you miss me yet?”

Republican voters across the country are on pins and needles waiting to find out if the man behind MAGA will run for the White House for a third time.

But Donald Trump may actually be making a return to the Capital sooner than GOP voters think.

Americans wish he’d never left

Former President Donald Trump believes he should’ve won the 2020 election.

Meanwhile, a majority of Republican voters want the former President to take another crack at the Oval Office.

And Trump is leading every GOP primary poll of 2024 hopefuls – by large margins.

The 45th President of the United States has said he has made his decision on a potential run for a second term in the White House – but hasn’t announced when he’ll let his supporters know.

But we do now know when he’ll be making his next trip to the Capital.

The main event of a star-studded policy summit

Donald Trump will be making his return to Washington, D.C. – for the first time since leaving the White House – later this month.

The former President will be the keynote speaker on Tuesday, July 26, at the America First Policy Institute’s policy summit.

According to Just the News, the invitation-only event will include panel discussions and presentations by top Republican leaders – including former Trump administration officials and members of Congress.

According to Axios, along with the leader of the America First movement, other speakers at the policy summit will include: former White House adviser Kellyanne Conway, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, former Energy Secretary Rick Perry, current House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA), Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI), Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe, former U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, and many more.

The two-day event, starting Monday, July 25, is expected to focus on lowering energy and gasoline prices, combating inflation, Critical Race Theory and Queer Theory in children’s classrooms, surging crime rates and Joe Biden’s crisis on the U.S. southern border.

Those are all areas that rank highly in polling when voters are asked about the issues they most care about.

About the America First Policy Institute

America First Policy Institute is a non-profit organization specializing in conservative-populism policy research.

AFPI is led by, among others, Trump’s former Small Business Administrator Linda McMahon, his former Director of the National Economic Council Larry Kudlow and his former Director of the Domestic Policy Council Brooke Rollins – each of whom will also be featured speakers at the summit.

While it is known the retreat will be at the Capital, the group has yet to announce the specific location due to security concerns.

The invitation-only event will be streamed live.
