Donald Trump laughed hysterically when Mike Pence attacked him and talked about running for President

Apr 25, 2023

The strain between Donald Trump and his former Vice President is growing by the day.

Trump and his supporters believe Mike Pence was a disloyal Vice President.

And Donald Trump laughed hysterically when Mike Pence attacked him and talked about running for President.

Donald Trump is currently running away with the 2024 GOP Presidential nomination.

There is only one contender – and it’s not Mike Pence

As it stands, there is only one possible candidate who can even challenge Trump for the job.

But it’s not Mike Pence or anyone else currently in the race.

The only person who even comes close to Trump in the polls is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

But this is not stopping Mike Pence from making the rounds and acting like a candidate.

And now Trump’s former Vice President just said he will make his announcement about 2024 “well before late June.”

Pence recently appeared on CBS’s Face the Nation, where he told host Robert Costa that anyone “serious” about seeking the Republican nomination would have to enter the contest by June to have a chance.

“I’m here in Iowa”

Pence has not made it a secret that he wants to run for President.

When asked by Costa whether he is leaning towards running, Pence answered, “Well, I’m here in Iowa.”

Should the former Vice President decide to run, Pence would join a field that currently includes Donald Trump, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy.

U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) has also launched an exploratory committee.

Trump announced his 2024 Presidential bid shortly after the disastrous 2022 Midterm elections.

A Pence announcement would set the two former running mates against each other in what is sure to be a brutal campaign.

Since leaving office, Pence’s split with Trump has turned very personal.

Pence explained to Costa that he and Trump had a very close working relationship for four years, but that it “didn’t end well.”

Pence went on to say that although he once believed Trump was the “fighter” Republican voters needed in the White House, he now thinks “the American people will want to see us move forward.”

“History will hold Trump accountable”

But these comments were mild compared to what Pence said about Trump in March at the annual Gridiron Dinner in Washington, D.C.

Pence said “history will hold Donald Trump accountable” for the events on January 6.

And earlier this month, Pence decided not to appeal a ruling requiring him to testify before a grand jury as part of a special counsel investigation into January 6.

Pence also has repeatedly said he and his lawyers have been “transparent” and “fully cooperated” with the Justice Department and members of Congress over classified documents found at his home in January.

Pence told Costa that he is hearing from more and more people that there is a need for his brand of “traditional conservatism” in the crowded field of Presidential contenders.

“The challenges that we’re facing in this economy, with inflation at a 40-year high, and a crisis at our border, are going to require someone who has the ability to step in on day one, and set our country back on a path towards security and prosperity,” Pence said.

Of course, by all measures, that someone is not Mike Pence.
