John Durham’s report made it clear that the FBI had no basis to open an investigation into the Trump campaign and Russia.
This report confirmed once and for all that the Russian-collusion narrative was cooked up by the Clinton campaign and laundered to the FBI as part of a dirty trick to interfere in the 2016 election.
Trump took a victory tour on conservative media the day after the report came out.
On Dan Bongino’s podcast, Trump reacted to the report by promising to fire more FBI and Deep State officials if he won back the White House in 2024.
Trump noted that he was the one who fired disgraced FBI Director James Comey as evidence he would follow through on his pledge to clean house in the Deep State.
“Don’t forget, I did house clean – I fired a lot of people,” Trump told Bongino, before adding, “but the Deep State goes deep.”
Trump defended his decision to fire Comey by explaining that the Durham report backed up what he said for years about how the FBI and the Deep State ran a coup against the country with a hoax about his campaign colluding with Russia.
“It was a great firing,” Trump stated. “They were looking to do real bad–this, this was a coup that they were looking at. These are sick people. So, yeah. Only a fool would not do that. You have to do a deep–not only there. You have to do it in a lot of other locations.”
Trump doubled down on this message in an interview with Newsmax’s Ron Schmitt.
“This is the biggest story of – maybe in the history of – our country: The crime of the century,” Trump began.
Trump told Schmitt that the report exposed the FBI for committing treason in trying to overturn the results of a free and fair election.
“I wish it would have come faster, but the detail he went into — 308 pages — the detail is extraordinary. I guess you could call it treason, you could call it a lot of different things, but this should never be allowed to happen in our country again,” Trump continued.
“There is a Deep State,” Trump concluded. “There are a lot of problems, and I did a lot of firing, but it goes down very low when you look at it.”
