Donald Trump’s mugshot was seen by people all around the world.
The mugshot was supposed to spell political doom for the former President.
But Elon Musk said two words about Trump’s mugshot that left jaws on the ground.
Democrat District Attorney Fani Willis forced Donald Trump to pose for a mugshot after arresting him as part of a 41-count indictment against him and 18 of his supporters, aides, and lawyers.
Willis intended the mugshot to serve as a trophy for Democrats in their campaign of lawfare against Trump.
But that plan backfired.
Trump made his triumphant return to X, formerly known as Twitter, to post the mugshot along with a caption of “Never Surrender” and a link to his campaign’s donation page.
X owner Elon Musk praised Trump and referred to his posting of the mugshot as “next-level.”

Trump’s mugshot post went viral in crazy fashion.
Musk wrote that the mugshot generated “approximately 10 million views per hour of this image.”
As of now, Trump’s mugshot post has generated 246 million views.
This organic traffic proved to be a boon for the Trump campaign, which reported raising its single biggest one-day fundraising total since he entered the race.
“The former President has raised $7.1 million since he was booked at an Atlanta jail Thursday evening, according to figures provided first to POLITICO by his campaign. On Friday alone, Trump raised $4.18 million, making it the single-highest 24-hour period of his campaign to date, according to a person familiar with the totals,” POLITICO reported.
The campaign sold t-shirts, cozies, and coffee mugs with Trump’s mugshot and “Never Surrender” slogan in record numbers, which shows the massive grassroots support for Trump in the GOP.
If the criminal indictments were supposed to knock Trump out of the race, that plan backfired in spectacular fashion since his campaign raised more money after the final two indictments than any other campaign did in the entire last fundraising quarter.
“Trump’s campaign says it has raised nearly $20 million in the last three weeks, during which time Trump was indicted on charges related to his role in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot and for trying to overturn the Georgia vote count in the 2020 election. That figure is more than half of what Trump raised during his first seven months in the 2024 race,” POLITICO also reported.
