Fox News fired Tucker Carlson and you won’t believe the real reason why

Conservatives are still reeling over the fact that Tucker Carlson is out at Fox News.

The truth about Carlson’s departure began to trickle out.

But Fox News fired Tucker Carlson and you won’t believe the real reason why.

Fox News set off a political earthquake around noon on Monday when it released a terse statement announcing the network fired Tucker Carlson.

“FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor,” the statement from Fox read.

The Fox statement revealed that Carlson’s last program was the previous Friday and that he would not get a chance for a final signoff to say goodbye to his audience, which is the largest in all of cable news.

“Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday, April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named,” the Fox News statement continued.

Everyone assumed Fox News fired Carlson as part of the fallout from the $787 million payment to Dominion Voting systems as a settlement to a defamation lawsuit.

Fox News Founder Rupert Murdoch reportedly made the call to fire Carlson in part because he was fed up with him questioning the Democrat Party and Fake News Media’s narrative about January 6.

“Murdoch was tired of Tucker Carlson’s conspiracy theories about the January 6, 2021 riots at the Capitol,” Insider reported.

Murdoch firing Carlson came less than one week after Fox News failed to renew the contract of Don Bongino – the host of Unfiltered and Canceled in the USA – which raised eyebrows that Murdoch had ulterior motives in jettisoning two of his most popular hosts.

Carlson and Bongino were the two hosts most identified with Donald Trump and his Make America Great Again populist conservative agenda.

Murdoch has also been a supporter of establishment Republican politics as embodied by Fox board member Paul Ryan.

Murdoch supports gun control, amnesty, and a Mitt Romney/Liz Cheney-style foreign policy.

Getting rid of Carlson and Bongino just ahead of the 2024 election could hint at an editorial change at Fox News to move away from Donald Trump and towards other candidates.

It did not escape notice that on the day Murdoch fired the pro-Trump Carlson, the main guest on Sean Hannity’s show was Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
