Democrats are busting out into panic mode over the 2024 election.
But the Left still has one more card to play.
And George Soros has one ace up his sleeve to ban Donald Trump from running in 2024.
The left-wing nonprofit Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) have received $1 million dollars in funding from George Soros-backed groups since 2010.
And with the Real Clear Politics polling average showing Donald Trump leading Joe Biden by 1.7 points, CREW is putting a plan in motion to prevent Trump from winning the election by kicking him off of state ballots.
The Washington Post reports:
Two nonprofit groups who do not disclose all their donors, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) and Free Speech For People, have prepared multipronged legal strategies to challenge Trump across the country under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. They have written letters to state election officials calling on them to block Trump from the ballot, while separately preparing voter lawsuits and state election board complaints.
The plan to knock Trump off the ballot in 2024 centers on Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.
Congress ratified the 14th Amendment following the Civil War as part of reconstruction.
Section 3 bars anyone who engaged in insurrection against the government from ever holding elected office.
Section 3 reads:
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.
The drafters of the 14th Amendment intended this section to bar Confederate army officers from holding elected office at the federal or state level.
But CREW falsely claims Donald Trump led an insurrection on January 6 and that the Constitution bars him from serving as President.
“It is a strategy designed to enforce the Constitution to bar Trump from serving as President,” CREW’s top lawyer, Donald Sherman, declared. “We have had two major insurrections in this country. One was the Civil War, which gave rise to Section 3. And one was January 6.”
All it will take is one left-wing judge to agree to throw Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign into limbo.
