Hunter Biden’s shady dealings are back in the news.
Even the left-wing media now admits the infamous “laptop from hell” belonged to him.
And Jim Jordan just sent Merrick Garland one letter that has Hunter Biden pacing the floor.
Elon Musk’s Twitter Files prove that the FBI colluded with Twitter and other Big Tech firms to keep the Hunter Biden laptop scandal out of the news before the 2020 election.
Jim Jordan is demanding answers
The files also show that they even claimed the laptop was “Russian disinformation” when they knew it was not.
Now Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) wants to know why the Justice Department is not investigating the matter.
Attorney General Merrick Garland has already appointed special counsels to probe the handling of classified documents by Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
But he has not appointed a special counsel to run an investigation into Hunter Biden and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jordan wants to know why.
Afterall, the laptop scandal has been in the news since late 2020, with no noticeable investigation by the DOJ.
To try and get to the bottom of it, Jim Jordan is using his power as Chairman of the powerful Judiciary Committee.
Jordan recently sent a letter to Attorney General Garland requesting documents to try and understand the situation and conduct some oversight of Biden’s out of control Department of Justice.
“The Department’s investigation of Hunter Biden, son of President Biden, raises the appearance of a conflict of interest that would necessitate special counsel protections and authorities,” Chairman Jordan stated in his letter to Garland.
“However, to date, you have declined to appoint a special counsel in this matter, despite appointing special counsels in other investigations,” Jordan continued.
“Conspicuous in this context”
Jordan does have a point.
If a special counsel is needed to investigate Joe Biden and Donald Trump’s handling of documents, it only makes sense an investigation into the President’s son would require one as well.
“Your refusal to appoint a special counsel here is conspicuous in this context,” Jordan added.
With a goal of increasing the Judiciary Committee’s oversight, Jordan asked Garland for documents and communications involved in the matter.
Specifically, Jordan demanded:
“1. All documents and communications sent or received by David Weiss or any employee of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Delaware referring or relating to special counsel status for the investigation concerning Hunter Biden; and
2. All documents and communications between or among employees of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Delaware and employees of any other U.S. Attorney’s Office with venue to bring charges against Hunter Biden or his associates in that jurisdiction.”
House Republicans are not messing around
Chairman Jordan requested the information from Attorney General Garland “as soon as possible,” but set a deadline of 5:00 p.m. on March 14, just two weeks away.
Given the Biden administration’s stonewalling of other such requests by Congress, this seems like a prudent move.
House Republicans have not been messing around since they returned to power in the lower chamber of Congress in January.
And time will tell what Jordan’s request turns up from the DOJ.
