Jim Jordan made one bold move that put Merrick Garland on notice

The backlash is growing against Attorney General Merrick Garland.

He’s about to face one problem that he never expected.

And that’s because Jim Jordan made one bold move that put Merrick Garland on notice.

The final report of Special Counsel John Durham confirmed that the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane investigation into former President Donald Trump’s alleged connections to Russia was politicized and launched with bogus evidence.

The FBI has been exposed as an arm of the Democrat Party that has been weaponized against conservatives.

Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH) is leading the House Judiciary Committee’s investigation into the weaponization of the federal government.

He’s trying to rein in the lawless FBI after the Durham Report and a parade of whistleblowers exposed this egregious wrongdoing in the Bureau.

His Subcommittee on Weaponization of the Federal Government heard from three suspended FBI whistleblowers who said they were retaliated against for coming forward about the Bureau politicizing January 6 investigations among other abuses.

Jim Jordan is going after funding for the FBI and Justice Department

Jordan is taking off the gloves when it comes to abuses of power by the FBI and the Justice Department.

In an interview with Fox News, he proposed hitting the FBI and Justice Department where it hurts by cutting their funding.

“In the end, money always gets people’s attention, so what we’re going to have to do is say, ‘hey, FBI, you can’t use the American tax dollars for this kind of activity,'” Jordan said.

The FBI is currently searching for a space in Maryland or Virginia to build a sprawling new headquarters that would be the largest office building in the world and cost billions of taxpayer dollars.

“We have to limit how they spend the money, maybe even limit them,” Jordan remarked. “Here’s a great example. They want millions of dollars, hundreds of millions of dollars in their construction budget for a new facility. No way. No way should we approve that.”

According to Jordan, the Constitution gives the House control over federal spending.

“So, we have to exercise our authority, the power of the purse, to limit what the federal government, what the FBI and Justice Department, are doing to the American people,” Jordan added.

Jordan said that he’s been working with Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and other GOP leaders to pass 12 appropriation bills to fund the federal government.

“We’ve been meeting with our staff to work out how we can limit money, American tax dollars, being used in these ways and deal with the overall budget that the FBI and the DOJ are receiving,” Jordan said. “The first of those 12 appropriations bills will be [out] the week after we get back from the Memorial Day recess.”

The Ohio lawmaker also said that major reforms for the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance ACT (FISA) are also on the table after the FBI abused it to illegally spy on the Trump campaign.

The FBI could pay a price for its out-of-control behavior if House Republicans hold firm on their plan to cut the Bureau’s bloated budget.
