Senators Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Ron Johnson (R-WI) opened an investigation in 2019 into Hunter Biden’s shady foreign business deals.
The intelligence community tried to discredit their investigation by smearing it as Russian “disinformation.”
Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH) opened an investigation into the intelligence community for its attempt to obstruct Grassley and Johnson’s probe.
Jordan, who chairs the House Judiciary Committee, sent a letter to Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines demanding information on the scheme to discredit the Republican Senator’s investigation.
But when Grassley and Johnson were getting close to blowing the lid off of Hunter Biden’s corruption, the Deep State stepped in to intervene.
The Republican Senators were given a defensive briefing in August of 2020 by the FBI that was made with “pressure from Congressional Democrats” before the 2020 election.
Top FBI officials stepped in to shut down the Senators from exposing Hunter Biden’s foreign influence peddling operation.
Then-FBI Deputy Assistant Director for Counterintelligence Nikki Floris, then-FBI Section Chief of the Foreign Influence Task Force (FITF) Bradley Benavides, and other FBI officials warned the pair about the “threat of Russian disinformation.”

The FBI wanted the alarming questions surrounding Hunter Biden’s foreign business deals to go away before the 2020 election.
Jordan told Haines in a letter that the FBI obstructed the investigation by Grassley and Johnson in the crucial months before the election.
“Although the FBI claims that the briefing focused on Russia, the information that Floris and Benavides conveyed to the Senators ‘consisted primarily of information that [the Senators] already knew and information unconnected to [their] Biden investigation.’ The briefing, the existence of which was later leaked, hampered the Senators’ investigation into Hunter Biden’s financial connections to foreign governments and foreign nationals,” Jordan wrote to Haines.
Jordan cited a letter sent by Grassley and Johnson after the FBI briefing that called it “unnecessary.”
The FBI briefing “provided the Democrats and liberal media the vehicle to spread their false narrative that our work advanced Russian disinformation,” Jordan explained. “Although you stated that the FBI didn’t intend to ‘interfere’ in our investigation, the practical effect of such an unnecessary briefing and the subsequent leaks relating to it created interference, which frustrated and obstructed congressional oversight efforts.”
The GOP watchdog pointed out that the information for the FBI briefing came from Deep State officials at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI).
“Floris and Benavides made it unequivocally clear that ODNI and its Notification Framework were integral to the pretextual ‘defensive’ briefing meant to frustrate and obstruct Congressional oversight into the Biden family’s overseas influence-peddling operation,” Jordan wrote.
The Deep State obstructed an investigation into Hunter Biden at a pivotal stage before the 2020 election.
