On the most recent episode of Meet the Press, left-wing host Chuck Todd lamented the fact that Joe Biden’s favorability rating was in positive territory in 2020 before a relentless campaign by Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani helped expose his links to Hunter’s foreign business deals and left him as the most unpopular President in decades.
“This stuff has taken a huge toll on him. Biden, right before the 2020 election, he was right side up, which in our polarized politics is quite astonishing. But look, Trump and Rudy Giuliani began this campaign to try to tarnish Biden, to try to turn him into the Clinton name with the obsession over the Ukraine businesses with Hunter, and it’s worked. His numbers look more like Hillary Clinton in ’16 than Biden in ’20,” Todd stated.
The most recent Gallup poll found that only Jimmy Carter had a lower approval rating than Biden in the tenth quarter of their Presidency.
Real Clear Politics’ polling average shows just 41 percent of Americans approve of the job that Joe Biden is doing as President.
POLITICO’s Jonathan Martin told Todd that Democrats were taking a huge risk in running Biden as their candidate in 2024 due to concerns about his age and his low ratings on his handling of the economy.
“They’re rallying around Joe Biden in part because they believe that that’s the safe play, that’s three yards in a cloud of dust to use a seasonal metaphor. Chuck, what if that’s the riskier option? You showed the numbers right there. The Democratic Party thinks Biden is the safe play. Just hope for the best and we’ll get through the next 14 months and I’m not so sure that’s it,” Martin declared.
Democrats and Joe Biden were counting on four criminal indictments to sink Donald Trump’s campaign.
But every election featuring an incumbent President is a referendum on their term in office.
And that is bad news for Biden and the Democrats, as CNN’s polling analyst Harry Enten explained that Donald Trump is polling better now than at any time in 2020.

Joe Biden only won in 2020 by an extremely narrow 44,000 vote margin across Georgia, Arizona, and Wisconsin.
If the vote margin shifts even one point to the Right in 2024, Donald Trump will win a second term.
And that is why Biden’s loyalists in the media are starting to get nervous about him as the candidate in 2024.
