Joe Biden’s administration has been an unmitigated disaster.
Prices have skyrocketed, wars are breaking out, and the crime rates across the U.S. have gone ballistic.
But Joe Biden just made one announcement about the border that left Americans groaning.
Too little, too late
President Joe Biden is now saying it’s his “intention” to visit the U.S-Mexico border in January.
This comes amid a record high number of border crossings, despite the Supreme Court keeping Title 42 in place.
Biden made his comments about visiting the border during his recent trip to Kentucky with Mitch McConnell.
Speaking at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, Biden said it’s his “intention” to visit the border during his trip to the North American Leaders’ Summit on Jan. 9-10.
This is a complete change of course for Biden, in the past when asked about visiting the border Biden said “there are more important things going on.”
Biden’s trip will also include meetings with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
If the President does make the visit, it would mark Biden’s first trip to the border during his Presidency.
His potential border trip comes as there is a record-breaking crisis at the southern border.
There have already been 617,250 total illegal alien encounters so far in Fiscal Year 2023 as of Dec. 29, 2022.
According to the Customs and Border Protection agency, that works out to some 6,858 encounters per day.
It’s a war zone
In FY 2022, illegal alien encounters reached 2.3 million.
Yet on December 6, Biden said that “there are more important things going on” when asked why he’d visit a border state but not the U.S. -Mexico border itself.
And many border town leaders (including Democrat Mayors) have said the border is out of control and looks like a war zone.
Yet the Biden administration has pushed for Title 42 to be lifted.
Title 42 is the Trump-era policy, which allows immigration officers to remove illegal aliens from the country on the basis of public health.
Of course, the real answer is to close the border to illegal immigration and stop it not just for public health reasons but in order to curtail weapon and drug smuggling into the country.
The huge spike in gang-related crimes continues to affect not just border towns, but cities and towns all over the nation.
Violent crimes have gone up, fentanyl deaths have exploded, and human trafficking has become an epidemic.
“He’s been to the border”
After U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan ruled in favor of immigration advocates and gave Title 42 an end date of Dec. 21, it seemed the illegal invasion would literally explode across the border.
But then the U.S. Supreme Court temporarily halted the policy’s termination.
What they didn’t do was force the Biden administration to act.
And even more shocking, without ever providing any evidence, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that Biden has been to the border.
Fox News’ Peter Doocy asked her about this last November, “We know the President’s never been down to the border. The possible next Speaker says that he wants [Biden] to go with him. So, is he going to?”
“He’s been there. He’s been to the border. And since he took office . . . ” Jean-Pierre lied.
“When did he go to the border?” Doocy asked, which led to Jean-Pierre evading the question and instead trying to blame Republicans for their so-called “unwillingness” to work with Biden on illegal immigration.
We will see if Biden makes it to the border, of course unless he has a complete change on policy all the border visit will do is give him some political cover.
