Joe Biden is facing serious headwinds heading into the 2024 Presidential election.
Even Democrats are realizing the precarious position he’s in.
And Joe Biden sat in stunned silence when a Clinton operative uttered two words about 2024.
Joe Biden’s re-election campaign is officially underway with a likely rematch against former President Donald Trump on deck.
He’s already giving Democrats reasons to be nervous about his chances of winning next year.
An ABC/Washington Post poll sent shockwaves throughout the political establishment when it found that Biden’s approval rating dipped to an all-time low of 36%.
That is a 6% decline from February and one point lower than the worst approval rating of his Presidency last year.
Trump led Biden in the poll by a margin of 49% to 42%.
Joe Biden’s support is in freefall just over two weeks after he officially announced he was seeking a second term.
Clinton operative panicking over new poll
George Stephanopoulos transitioned to a career in the media after he served as the Communications Director to former President Bill Clinton.
He said that the ABC/Washington Post poll was “just brutal” for Biden during a panel on ABC’s This Week.
“This poll is just brutal for President Biden,” Stephanopoulos said.
A shocked Stephanopoulos said that he couldn’t process how people are supporting Trump.
Former Democrat National Committee Chair Donna Brazile said that she lost sleep when the poll came out.
“It kept me up,” Brazile said. “They are still unable to get a real good, strong message to the American people, not just on the accomplishments, but where they want to take the country.”
After a rocky two plus years in offices, the public is not buying what Biden is selling and his vision for the future.
Big warning signs for Biden
The numbers were even worse for Biden underneath the hood.
He’s hemorrhaging support from key demographics that were crucial to his campaign in the 2020 election.
After winning them by 13% in 2020, Biden is now trailing Trump with Independent voters by 9%.
His approval rating with black voters declined from 82% when he entered the White House in 2021 to 52% in the poll.
That 30 point drop in support among black voters is the lowest of his Presidency.
Black voters will be a crucial demographic that Biden needs to turnout in battleground states like Georgia, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
The poll also found voters had serious concerns about Biden’s health and mental acuity.
It found that 63% of respondents do not think he has the “mental sharpness” to be President, while only 32% thought he was mentally up to the task.
62% said that Biden is not in “good enough physical health” to serve as Commander-in-Chief.
Democrats have tried to brush off concerns about Biden’s age, but he wouldn’t be able to avoid the questions on the campaign trail.
Trump’s age, health, and mental acuity were all rated higher than Biden’s according to the poll.
As his campaign kicks off, a growing number of Americans are expressing their doubt about the 80-year-old President.
