Reality is starting to set in for Democrats about the 2024 Presidential election.
But this is not how they expected events to play out.
And Kayleigh McEnany laid out the one nightmare scenario about 2024 that keeps Democrats up at night.
For two years, Democrats and their allies in the media comforted themselves with the idea that Donald Trump was politically radioactive and could not win a General Election.
The Left’s article of faith about Trump’s supposed electability issues grew stronger after the 2022 Midterms when several of his endorsed candidates lost Senate and gubernatorial elections.
But those candidates weren’t Donald Trump, and they weren’t running against Joe Biden.
And slowly but surely, the Left began to realize that they were fooling themselves if they thought Donald Trump couldn’t win a General Election.
Thanks to the specter of Joe Biden’s cognitive decline and punishing inflation, the Real Clear Politics polling average shows just 24 percent of Americans think the country is on the right track.
Just 38 percent approve of Joe Biden’s handling of the economy.
Those types of poll numbers usually spell doom for an incumbent President running for re-election.
That’s because any campaign featuring a sitting President is automatically a referendum on their performance in office.
Since Democrats know Biden can’t win a referendum election, they tried to turn the 2024 contest into a choice election by drafting their most partisan prosecutors into a scheme to indict Trump on 91 different sham criminal charges.
But that scheme failed to achieve its intended goal, as a new Wall Street Journal poll found Trump leading Joe Biden 40 to 39 percent.

On Jesse Watters’ Fox News program, McEnany explained that the passion of the Trump base – compared to the tepid support for Biden among Democrats – could prove pivotal in a close race.
“If he is the nominee, his 40%, I can guarantee you will go to the polls — rain, shine, sickness, health,” McEnany stated.
McEnany then argued that the warning signs in Biden’s behavior from his cognitive decline would make it impossible for Democrats to convince him he needed to step down from the ticket.
Calling it the “nightmare scenario,” McEnany argued Democrats would need to push Biden aside if they wanted to pick a new nominee.
“Biden is angry. He snaps at staffers. He snaps at people around him. He is angry. He is stubborn. He’s not stepping aside. So for those saying he’s not the nominee, he’s got to be pushed out. He’s not leaving on his own,” McEnany added.
The recent uptick in chatter among the media about Biden’s age is not because the press is committed to honest journalism or telling the truth.
Members of the press ignored Biden’s obvious senility during the 2020 race and during his first two years in office.
Journalists are only now beginning to cover his age because they fear it will cause him to lose to Donald Trump and the media wants to lay the groundwork for the Party to dump Biden and pick a different nominee.
