Kellyanne Conway ran Donald Trump’s victorious 2016 Presidential campaign and served in his White House.
But now Conway has a lot of explaining to do.
And Kellyanne Conway got caught committing this unthinkable betrayal of Donald Trump.
Conway leading the leak campaign against J.D. Vance
Articles keep popping up in the media about how Donald Trump is unhappy with his selection of J.D. Vance as his running mate.
These quotes were assumed to come from the warmongers inside the GOP outraged that Trump picked an opponent of Ukraine funding as his running mate.
Trump isn’t dumping Vance from the ticket and Trump isn’t upset at all with his performance.
“In interviews with The Bulwark, twenty Trump campaign staffers, allies, confidants, and advisers were quick to shoot down any notion that Trump was turning his back on Vance or was displeased with him amid his rocky rollout,” The Bulwark’s Marc Caputo reported.
Trump insiders believe the source of the stories is Conway, who is leaking against Vance out of spite that Trump didn’t take her advice and pick Florida Senator Marco Rubio as his running mate.
Donald Trump Jr. also reportedly believes Conway is the source of these stories and the President’s son is furious.
“He’s pissed off about it. He knows it’s her,” Caputo reported one source telling him about Trump Jr.’s knowledge of the attacks on Vance originating with Conway.
“But more than a dozen of those sources volunteered without prompting that they believed Conway, who initially opposed the selection of Vance, was undermining him through leaks to the press expressing doubts about his readiness and the campaign’s vetting,” Caputo also reported.
Caputo reported that during a meeting at Fox News before Trump made his running mate pick official, Conway expressed the strongest opposition possible to Trump putting Vance on the ticket.
According to one source in the room, Conway declared that Trump would “pick Vance over my dead body.”
Caputo also reported that “a top operative who helps raise millions for Trump told Vance’s team about a call from a donor; apparently, on a phone call with the donor, Conway had trashed Vance and questioned the campaign’s vetting.”
Conway responds
Conway issued a very lawyerly denial to The Bulwark where she said she never reached out to anyone to bad mouth Vance.
But Conway admitted donors are calling her to complain about Trump selecting Vance as his running mate.
“When it comes to concerned people questioning the vetting or selection of JD Vance, the calls are coming in, not going out,” Conway stated.
“I’m not calling them and saying this is bad. People are asking me. They’re not just asking me. They’re asking lots of people,” Conway added.
But what Conway didn’t deny is that she was opposed to Trump picking Vance as his running mate or that she didn’t share the donor’s complaints.
