Mark Wahlberg made one statement about his faith that put Hollywood into a state of shock

Mark Wahlberg has been one of the most influential actors in Hollywood for nearly a decade.

That’s why what he just said about his faith may be a turning point for the film industry.

And Mark Wahlberg made one statement about his faith that put Hollywood into a state of shock.

The rise of Mark Wahlberg

Most Americans can name some of the top actors in Hollywood without even trying.

Everyone knows names like Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, and George Clooney, who are near the top of the list as the most recognized actors in Hollywood.

But Mark Wahlberg would be on many people’s list, as he has developed a brand for himself in Hollywood.

Wahlberg got his first glimpse of stardom as the lead rapper from Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch.

But Wahlberg ended up making a career change and has never looked back.

In 1993, Mark Wahlberg took a leap from the music industry to Hollywood and it paid off big time.

His acting career started with the television film, The Substitute, and since then he has been in over 60 movies.

Many of his movies, like Three Kings, Deepwater Horizon, and Patriots Day, are some of the most famous movies over the past couple of decades.

And after nearly 30 years in Hollywood, Mark Wahlberg has become one of the wealthiest actors with a net worth of more than $400 million.

So needless to say, Mark Wahlberg isn’t some B-rated actor in Hollywood.

He is the real deal.

But Mark Wahlberg is more than just an A-list celebrity in Hollywood.

He is also a devout Catholic.

Wahlberg shocks Hollywood by proclaiming his faith

During an appearance on the Today Show on Ash Wednesday, Wahlberg opened up about his faith.

He proclaimed that “[Faith] is everything, it’s afforded me so many things.”

But Wahlberg did not stop there.

He continued by admitting that Christianity isn’t a “big thing” in Hollywood.

“It’s not popular in my industry, but, you know, I cannot deny my faith,” Wahlberg said. “It’s important for me to share that with people. I have friends from all walks of life and all different types of faiths and religions, so you know, it’s important to respect and honor them as well.”

Wahlberg ended his comments by providing a message about Christianity and sin.

“God knows the things that He wants you to detach from,” he said. “We all know those things that make us feel guilty, don’t make us feel as good as we should. So being able to detach from those things and focus on good habits as opposed to bad habits is just challenging people to be better versions of themselves.”

This is amazing to hear from someone with so much status in Hollywood.

And you can bet that his message of faith did not sit well with most Hollywood elites.
