Romney thought he could help RINOs seize back power in the Republican Party.
But now Mitt Romney made a retirement announcement that left Donald Trump jumping for joy.
After years of fighting Donald Trump for control of the GOP, RINO Utah Senator Mitt Romney finally threw in the towel and announced his retirement.

Conservatives are thrilled to see Romney head for the exits.
Romney was a loyal Democrat vote in every important fight, and his brand of “roll over and die” Republicanism – exemplified by the timid campaign he ran against Barack Obama in 2012 – helped pave the way for Donald Trump’s ascent.
In 2012, Romney ran as a loyal ally of Wall Street in the first Presidential election since the housing meltdown and the Great Recession of 2008.
That disastrous decision – as well as Romney’s inability to attack Obamacare since he originated the framework of the scheme while Governor of Massachusetts – caused him to lose an election he could have won.
Romney’s failure in that campaign also convinced conservatives that establishment RINOs lacked the backbone or ideological core to successfully fight the Democrats.
Donald Trump took a victory lap over Romney quitting the Senate.
Trump posted on Truth Social that he would have backed a primary challenger to Romney and that his retirement was a great day for the Republican Party, the state of Utah, and the United States of America.

A BIG PRIMARY FIGHT AGAINST HIM WAS IN THE OFFING, BUT NOW THAT WILL NOT BE NECESSARY. CONGRATS TO ALL. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump wrote.
Mitt Romney came to symbolize everything the conservative base hated about the milquetoast GOP establishment.
By the end of Romney’s term in the Senate, he morphed into a parody of what MSNBC considered a Republican.
And few will be sad to see him go.
