Title 42 is set to expire on May 11 and could cause all hell to break loose on the border.
Title 42 is a public health policy invoked by Trump during the pandemic that gives federal authorities the ability to quickly expel illegal aliens to protect the country from the virus.
The policy was the last major successful border security measure left in place from the Trump administration.
Since April of 2020, Title 42 has been used to expel nearly two million illegal aliens, which is more than the population of Philadelphia.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Acting Commissioner, Troy Miller, told Congress that the number of illegal aliens trying to cross each day is expected to double once the policy expires.
Border Patrol agents will no longer have the ability to turn illegal aliens crossing the border away.

Biden cutting Border Patrol budget
The Fiscal Year 2024 budget proposal by the President is set to cut the budget of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) from the previous year.
Nearly $1.3 billion, a 7.5% cut, is being shaved off in the agency’s proposed budget.
Not only will the CBP be dealing with a surge after Title 42 expires, but they could also have less resources to handle it.
CBP payroll is set to be cut by $63 million, placing further strain on already overworked Border Patrol agents.
“The agents’ and officers’ jobs are made harder by the President’s fundamentally unserious budget request,” John Rutherford (R-FL) said. “The administration is essentially cutting the CBP budget at a time of crisis.”
Border security is one of Donald Trump’s signature issues that helped him win in 2016.
The border crisis escalating would ensure that the issue is front and center during the 2024 Presidential election.
