There’s never a dull moment when you’re a cop.
But things get even crazier on your calls when it’s Christmas time.
And police were in shock when they got this festive 9-1-1 call about Cousin Eddie.
If you want a job that’s rewarding and never the same each day, you should become a police officer.
Want an unpredictable job? Become a police officer.
Small towns throughout the United States are protected and served by the sheriff’s offices and police departments.
They take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States and their fellow neighbors.
Police officers always put their lives on the line to protect the community they love.
Often, the job is very stressful and demanding in ways that most of us couldn’t handle.
Some of the images and scenarios they see would break the average citizen.
But there are times where the job is unpredictably comical.
You just never know what you’re going to get when you’re on a call.
Your local crackheads always add an extra layer of comical relief and unpredictability.
And when animals are involved, that’s when things can get really interesting.
But ask any cop and they’ll tell you that when the holiday season comes around, common sense goes out the window and the variety of calls they get is amazing.
Most of the time, the calls are domestic calls as family members get together for the first time in months and try not to kill each other.
If you have in-laws, you understand the level of frustration that can lead to a 9-1-1 call.
And if you’re lucky, you might even get to arrest Santa Claus.

But of all the Christmas calls police departments across the United States have gotten, this is by far the most unique and odd call imaginable.
Especially since it involved Cousin Eddie.
Cousin Eddie – the Prime Suspect
Most of us admire Cousin Eddie as a true symbol of Christmas.
His character on National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation provided us with one of the best characters and best quotes during the Christmas season, “Shitter was full!”
But one family saw Cousin Eddie as a threat rather than a Christmas icon and called the cops on him.
Like in many yards across the United States, Cousin Eddie was used as a Christmas decoration by their neighbor.
Well, the family thought their neighbor’s Christmas decoration was someone in the yard.
So rather than looking into the possible reasons for a non-moving man standing at the edge of their yard, they called the cops instead.
In the call, the scared residence claimed, “We have a male standing outside. He is naked. He has a robe covering part of his body. He is exposing himself, and he has a hose between his legs.”
But when the officers arrived at the residence, the family was shocked to see the cops laughing and taking pictures with the naked man.
The responding officer radioed dispatch and explained when asked about the suspect, “Umm . . . it’s gonna be ‘Uncle Eddie’.”

Now that’s embarrassing.
But maybe next time the Scrooges will look twice before calling the cops on a Christmas display.
