There is no question that the FBI has become a weaponized arm of the Democrats and radical Left.
But they’re also claiming to be above the law.
And now, the FBI is ignoring a Congressional subpoena to try and keep Biden’s alleged bribery scheme under wraps.
The alleged corruption of the Biden family runs deep.
“Trust, but you aren’t allowed to verify”
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is refusing to turn over an unclassified report alleging President Joe Biden accepted bribes from a foreign national during his time as Vice President.
The subpoena from the House Oversight Committee was for an FBI file, FD-1023, that “describes an alleged criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Biden and a foreign national relating to the exchange of money for policy decisions.”
“We have received legally protected and highly credible unclassified whistleblower disclosures,” Comer and Grassley wrote in their letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray.
The FBI was required to turn over the document by noon on Wednesday, May 10, and also provide proof that the Bureau investigated the allegations.
However, Comer says the Bureau “failed to do both.”
“We’ve asked the FBI to not only provide this record, but to also inform us what it did to investigate these allegations,” Comer said. “The FBI has failed to do both. The FBI’s position is ‘trust, but you aren’t allowed to verify.’ That is unacceptable. We plan to follow up with the FBI and expect compliance with the subpoena.”
The FBI has the file – but refuses to turn it over
Instead of complying with the subpoena as required by law, the FBI replied with a six-page letter that raised objections and concerns over the Committee’s request.
FBI Acting Assistant Director for Congressional Affairs, Christopher Dunham, claimed that the unclassified report must be kept private in order to protect sources.
“Information from confidential human sources is unverified and, by definition, incomplete,” he wrote.
Comer and Grassley pointed out that the FBI does not dispute the file exists, but instead are refusing to lawfully comply with the subpoena and turn over the file to the Committee.
And the timing of the FBI’s non-compliance was not lost on legal analysts and the House Oversight Committee.
The FBI refused to comply with the subpoena just hours before Comer held a press conference where he unveiled evidence indicating the Biden family and their business associates were involved in “influence peddling schemes.”
The Oversight Committee even accused several Biden family members of collecting as much as $10 million from various foreign nationals and covering up the source of the money by funneling it through 20 companies owned by Biden.
Even more damning is that these companies were all created after Biden became Vice President.
The Biden White House continues to deny all of the allegations while claiming that the Oversight Committee’s investigation failed to provide any proof of illegal activity.
But perhaps the lack of concrete evidence is because Biden’s own FBI refuses to turn it over.
