Philadelphia has become one of the most crime-riddled cities in the country.
Violent thugs are terrorizing small businesses.
But this gas station owner has the perfect response to out-of-control crime in his city.
Neil Patel owns a gas station in northern Philadelphia.
As a result, he has had all sorts of problems with local thugs.
After he had his car vandalized and an ATM machine stolen, he decided he had enough.
Enough is Enough
Patel hired security firm S.I.T.E to protect his business and his employees.
And we aren’t talking about an old man armed with only a flashlight.
These security guards are highly trained, wear Kevlar vests, and carry AR-15s and shotguns.
“They are forcing us to hire the security, high-level security, state level. We are tired of this nonsense: robbery, drug trafficking, hanging around, gangs,” Patel said.
According to Patel, police take too long to respond when called.
“Selling their drugs openly. Cops here, they don’t do anything. Robberies, stealing, vandalizing my car,” he said.
While this may seem like an expensive addition, it might actually be the best option from a business perspective.
Under Pennsylvania law, business owners have an obligation to protect customers from known dangers.
Philadelphia-based attorney David Thiruselvam said he is currently representing nine clients who were shot at gas stations and are suing the owners.
Of course, it’s absolutely ridiculous that gas station owners are being held responsible for simply existing in an area with out-of-control crime.
If anyone, victims should be able to sue Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner for not doing anything about all the crime in the city.
Krasner is one of the pro-crime District Attorneys funded by George Soros.
When he was first elected in 2018, a Soros-affiliated PAC contributed over a million dollars to his campaign.
Since then, Krasner has pushed for lenient sentences for criminals, some even so outrageously lenient that they were rejected by judges.
Krasner is currently facing impeachment in the Pennsylvania legislature for neglecting his duties to prosecute criminals.
With a DA like Krasner, it’s no wonder crime has gotten so bad in Philadelphia.
Gas stations have been hit particularly hard in recent years.
Over the last few years, robberies at gas stations involving firearms have tripled.
It seems the security that Patel has hired are doing a good job.
Since he hired them, he hasn’t had any further crime on his property, and thugs are no longer loitering there.
Customer Jack Rock was happy about the guards’ presence.
“I have my license to carry, I’m always ready to go for myself, so it’s like whatever . . . It’s nice and safe for me. I get my juice, go to my car without somebody else jumping in it,” Rock said.
It is good to know that at least now this gas station is safe from the rampant crime in the city.
Unfortunately, not all small businesses can spare the expense to hire this type of security.
