In recent years, Democrats have changed election rules to their benefit.
Republicans have been left complaining over the results.
That’s why Donald Trump surprised Republicans by calling for them to use this controversial election strategy.
Mail-in voting and ballot harvesting threaten the integrity of our elections.
But Democrats’ success in winning elections cannot be entirely attributed to fraud.
The fact is, the Left is better organized and knows how to use these voting methods to their advantage, while Republicans come up short.
Have to play the game by the rules in place
Former President Donald Trump told Breitbart News that he believes Republicans have no choice but to start utilizing mail-in voting and ballot harvesting in states where it is allowed.
To be sure, Trump is by no means endorsing these voting policies, but is simply acknowledging the reality of the current system.
“The best thing would be same-day voting, paper ballots, voter ID, et cetera,” Trump said.
Trump was asked if he believes Republicans should utilize mail-in voting and ballot harvesting where legal, Trump replied, “They have no choice. They have to.”
The fact is, Republicans don’t currently have the power to implement the needed election security measures nationwide, and if they continue to refuse to play the game under the current rules, they never will.
Democrats will continue to push for more rules that give them a political advantage.
They came close to doing so on the federal level earlier this year, but were thwarted when moderate Democrats Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema refused to vote to abolish the filibuster and ram their election takeover scheme through the Senate.
The fact is, as long as Democrats are in charge, we won’t have secure elections.
Trump said, “But the Democrats should want to fix it too because it’s a corrupt election. Our elections are totally corrupt. The Democrats should want to fix that. They don’t because it is to their benefit the way it is now. But the Republicans have no choice but to fix it. It’s going to be very hard but the Republicans have to fix it.”
For the most part, Republican voters vote in person on election day.
Republican campaign consultants have largely avoided strategies that utilize mail-in voting and ballot harvesting.
This has put them at a disadvantage against Democrats.
While Republican campaign staff spend election day scrambling to make calls and knock doors to Get Out the Vote on election day, Democrats have already turned out their voters weeks before.
Republicans simply cannot afford to fight with one hand tied behind their back.
Mail-in voting and especially ballot harvesting are terrible policies that undermine the integrity of America’s elections, but they are the reality and there is nothing Republicans can do about that at the moment.
For Republicans to be in a position to get rid of these risky election rules, they must first learn how to win under them.
