Joe Biden claimed that he and the White House had nothing to do with the criminal charges against Donald Trump.
But that appears to be yet another lie.
And two secret meetings revealed Joe Biden’s role in the criminal charges against Trump.
Just like Joe Biden lied about never talking business with his son Hunter, it looks like his administration got caught in a lie over its involvement in the criminal indictments against Donald Trump.
Controversial Justice Department official Jay Bratt is at the center of another Joe Biden scandal.
Bratt met with deputy chief of staff for the White House counsel’s office, Caroline Seba, at the same time Trump was in negotiations with the National Archives over the return of documents at Mar-a-Lago.
“Bratt, 63, also met with Seba at the White House in November 2021, when Trump was mired in negotiations with the National Archives, who were demanding the return of presidential records from his Mar-a-Lago estate before a formal investigation had not yet been opened,” the New York Post reported.
Bratt was also one of the officials on site at Mar-a-Lago in June of 2022 to inspect the storage facilities where Trump kept the boxes of documents.
The Washington Post also reported that Bratt was the leading voice pushing for a surprise FBI tactical raid of Mar-a-Lago to execute a search warrant.
Bratt joined anti-Trump special counsel Jack Smith’s team in 2022.
And what’s now at issue is a meeting Bratt had with Seba at the White House in March of 2023, just nine weeks before Smith brought his first indictment against Donald Trump.
“Jay Bratt, who joined the special counsel team in November 2022, shortly after it was formed, took a meeting in the White House on March 31, 2023, with Caroline Seba, deputy chief of staff for the White House counsel’s office, White House visitor logs show. They were joined in the 10 a.m. meeting by Danielle Ray, an FBI agent in the Washington field office,” the Post reported.
Bratt’s trip raised obvious concerns about a coordinated effort between the special counsel’s team and the White House to bring criminal charges against Joe Biden’s likely political opponent.
George Washinton Law Professor Jonathan Turley stated that Bratt’s role “raises obvious concerns about visits to the White House after [Bratt] began his work with the special counsel.”
Article III Project head Mike Davis said Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee asked for Bratt’s communications with the White House as part of an investigation into political coordination and targeting of Donald Trump by the special counsel’s office and the Biden administration.
“President Biden clearly approved the Mar-a-Lago raid on President Trump. Jay Bratt, an unethical Justice Department official who is now Jack Smith’s counselor, was clearly the driving force. @JudiciaryGOP must subpoena Bratt and his communications,” Davis stated.
