The Democrat Party’s reaction to the second assassination attempt against Donald Trump was almost as bad as the fact that multiple gunmen tried to kill the 45th President in the span of two months.
But there was a new low during a recent White House press briefing.
And what Karine Jean-Pierre said after the Trump assassination attempt will leave you red with rage.
Karine Jean-Pierre blames Donald Trump for assassination attempts
ABC’s Selina Wang asked Jean-Pierre if Kamala Harris and Joe Biden believed that Donald Trump was responsible for the hatred on the Left that inspired two assassins to try and murder him.
Jean-Pierre agreed, saying Trump was to blame for one gunman shooting him in the head and a second camping out at his home golf course in the hopes of killing him, saying Trump needed to “bring the temperature down” and basically shut up.
“[S]o you’re saying that the President and Vice President believe that former President Donald Trump should be toning down his rhetoric?” Wang asked.
Jean-Pierre’s response amounted to telling Trump that if he wanted Democrats to stop trying to kill him, he needed to be quiet by using the dangerous term “threat” to describe Donald Trump.
“So, I’ll say this – uh – President Biden has been clear-eyed about the threat that the former President represents to our democracy. He’s been clear eyed about that from his role – let’s not forget –from his role of January 6, where he refused to accept the outcomes of free and fair elections,” Jean-Pierre began.
Jean-Pierre cited January 6 and the false claims that Donald Trump incited an insurrection as the reason Kamala Harris and Biden would continue to stoke the flames in their base with unhinged rhetoric about Donald Trump.
“Look what happened on that day. Some of you were there at the Capitol. Some of you have colleagues who were there at the Capitol reported and saw what happened – 2,000 angry people went there to try to overturn a free and fair election. Uh – and so, it’s not going to stop the President and the Vice President to call out, to continue to strongly call out – uh – you know, when it comes to protecting our democracy, we have to be forceful about that. We have to be very clear,” Jean-Pierre added.
Jean-Pierre then claimed Biden and Kamala Harris condemned political violence even though Jean-Pierre promised that Kamala and Biden would keep hammering Trump with the type of incendiary rhetoric that caused two gunmen to try and assassinate Trump.
“We can resolve our differences – right – via talk at the ballot box, right? We can have differences in policies and issues. That is okay. It is important that we have differences there, but when it comes to political violence, we too condemn it,” Jean-Pierre added.
