A government official pointed out one simple truth that left District Attorney Alvin Bragg fuming

Donald Trump’s criminal charges are the latest witch hunt against the former President.

Legal observers were shocked by how flimsy the case turned out to be.

And a government official pointed out one simple truth that left District Attorney Alvin Bragg fuming.

Soros-funded Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg indicted former President Donald Trump on 34 felony counts of falsifying business documents related to alleged hush money payments to stripper Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal before the 2016 election.

Bragg alleges that Trump made the payments to benefit his 2016 Presidential campaign.

The Justice Department and the Federal Elections Commission (FEC) both saw the evidence and declined to pursue charges.

Bragg is throwing something against a wall and hoping it sticks with his flimsy case against Trump.

Federal campaign finance expert says Manhattan DA has no case

Hans von Spakovsky served as an FEC commissioner and currently leads the Heritage Foundation’s Election Law Reform Initiative.

He told Just the News that Alvin Bragg’s criminal case against Donald Trump is “dubious” and motivated by politics.

“It’s an extremely dubious prosecution, and I say that as a former commissioner on the Federal Election Commission,” von Spakovsky said.

He said that Bragg is trying to prosecute Trump for federal campaign finance charges that are outside the jurisdiction of his office.

“No local state prosecutor has the authority to enforce federal campaign finance crimes in the first place,” von Spakovsky explained. “There’s just nothing from a factual and legal standpoint to this case, but I don’t think this prosecutor cares about that.”

Bragg is counting on getting the Trump case before a jury in one of the most Democrat cities in the country.

“What he’s counting on is that he’s in Manhattan,” von Spakovsky continued. “Manhattan is one of the most liberal jurisdictions in the country. I think he believes that he can get a liberal jury to convict Trump, no matter what the facts are and no matter what the law is.”

Experts think that Trump’s legal team faces an uphill fight to get the case moved to a different location where he could receive a fair trial.

A Manhattan jury made of Trump-hating Democrats could be ready to convict the former President without seeing a single shred of evidence.

Appeals Court could be Trump’s only hope

Von Spakovsky said that if Trump is convicted on any of the charges, his only recourse would be to hope that an appellate court judge would reverse the decision.

“He can appeal and try to convince an appellate court that this was everything from a malicious prosecution to the fact that it wasn’t actually a violation of the law,” von Spakovsky explained. “A lot of this is going to depend on the judges and the tenure of the judges in the state court system. And I think that’s what Bragg is counting on, because his case is so weak, so nonexistent, that even folks on the left side of the political aisle — including prosecutors — have all basically said there’s just nothing to this case.”

Alvin Bragg’s ace in the hole is hoping that the Manhattan jury disregards the facts and drops the hammer on Donald Trump.
