Now, the House Homeland Security Committee will hold its first hearing from the border in the hard-hit city of McAllen, Texas.
McAllen is overwhelmed by the Biblical flood of illegal aliens pouring into the city under Biden.
House Republicans want to highlight the direct connection between the Biden regime’s policies and the “chaos and disorder” unfolding at the southern border.
“For the last two years, Americans have not been heard by the Democrat leadership in Washington as their communities have been decimated by the impacts of President Biden’s reckless border security policies and Secretary Mayorkas’ refusal to carry out the laws on the books,” Committee Chairman Mark Green (R-TN) told Fox News Digital. “But not anymore. The Homeland Security Committee is getting out of D.C. and going into the communities hit hardest by Biden’s border crisis.”
Alejandro Mayorkas has frequently claimed that the border is secure and that his agency has operational control of the situation.
The Committee hearing will expose the administration’s outlandish lies by putting a spotlight on one of the hardest hit border towns.
“This field hearing will provide us with a fact-finding opportunity to ultimately make the case that the chaos and disorder at the southwest border is a direct result of this administration’s policies and that the operational control Secretary Mayorkas asserted was present before never existed, and certainly does not now,” Green added.
To prepare for the hearing on the border, the Homeland Security Committee conducted a “border boot camp” in El Paso, Texas.
