Wokeness is taking over medical schools
Higher education has been hijacked by the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) agenda.
The poisonous DEI ideology has spread beyond the realm of undergraduate education.
Medical schools have begun to prioritize DEI in training the country’s future doctors at the expense of science and common sense.
Wake Forest Medical School student Kychelle Del Rosario bragged about hurting a patient who questioned her “she/her” pronoun pin.
But that’s the tip of the iceberg of the wokeness that is running rampant in medical schools.
The Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro uncovered that Duke Medical School – considered one of the best in the country – was disregarding research done by white men and stopped hiring them in order to boost opportunities for minorities.
He also found a video conference call from the University of Pennsylvania Medical school where a professor lamented about how many white men were surgeons.
Instead of operating on merit, medical schools are giving preference to minorities who would otherwise be unqualified simply because of their race or gender.
Competence is being replaced with wokeness for doctors, and this could have lethal consequences for the country.
Medical errors are the third leading cause of death in America.
Patients are going to be put in danger to serve the Left’s political agenda if DEI remains a core component of medical education.
John Kennedy wants to cut federal funding for woke medical schools
U.S. Senators John Kennedy (R-LA) and Eric Schmitt (R-MO) introduced the Embracing Anti-Discrimination, Unbiased Curricula, and Advancing Truth in Education (EDUCATE) Act to cut off federal funding to medical schools and accredit organizations that force DEI on students.
“Woke universities are forcing America’s future doctors to care more about race and gender than saving lives,” Kennedy said. “The EDUCATE Act would make sure taxpayer dollars don’t fund medical schools that discriminate against talented students or peddle progressive nonsense at the expense of science.”
Representative Greg Murphy (R-NC) – a doctor and former medical school faculty member – introduced the companion bill in the House.
“Discriminatory DEI practices have rapidly permeated medical schools across the country at great harm to the field of medicine,” Murphy stated. “Political ideology has no place in the classroom, especially when lives are on the line.”
The country is facing a catastrophe if wokeness takes over medical schools.
