This jaw-dropping new poll is about to raise hell for Mike Johnson

Apr 19, 2024

House Speaker Mike Johnson is scheming to come up with a way to satisfy Joe Biden’s demand for Congress to throw even more taxpayer money at the failed war in Ukraine.

But Johnson was in store for a nasty surprise.

And this jaw-dropping new poll is about to raise hell for Mike Johnson.

Polling shows swing state voters souring on Ukraine funding

The Heritage foundation conducted a poll of voters in six key swing states – Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.

The overwhelming finding was that a majority of voters oppose Johnson’s plan to keep pumping money into Ukraine and ignoring the crisis at the southern border.

“Is it more important to secure [America’s southern] border or to provide funding to Ukraine?” the poll asked.

50 percent said it was more important to secure America’s border compared to just 11 percent who said that Ukraine took top priority.

The poll asked voters for their opinion about a variety of approaches to Ukraine.

“In thinking about U.S. border security and the situation in Ukraine,” the poll continued, before asking “which of the following is the best approach?”

54 percent said the best way forward was to spend more money on America’s southern border.

23 percent said to spend the same amount on Ukraine as on the southern border.

10 percent picked spending more on Ukraine than on America’s southern border.

When asked if the $113 billion Congress approved for the Ukraine war was “too much, too little, or about the right amount of aid,” 56 percent said it was too much compared to 12 percent who said it wasn’t enough.

A question asking about Johnson’s plan for “funding for Ukraine but no funding to secure the southern border” received widespread opposition, with 75 percent saying they strongly or somewhat opposed Johnson’s betrayal of the American taxpayer.

The message to Washington, D.C., is simple

RMG President Scott Rasmussen oversaw this poll.

He explained how the results made it clear that voters in the states who will decide the 2024 election want Congress to put America first and fix the crisis at our southern border before worrying about the territorial integrity of faraway lands.

“American voters are reluctant to provide additional aid to Ukraine,” Rasmussen declared. “Our latest polling indicates that Americans in key swing states believe that securing our own southern border should be a higher priority than funding Ukraine.”

Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH) is the leader of the conservative opposition to Johnson’s Ukraine sellout.

Vance said the polling he saw in Ohio confirmed that voters don’t want to fund a forever war against Russia in Ukraine.

Voters are sending an unmistakable signal.

If Republicans want to keep their majority, then it’s time to drop this Ukraine folly, get down to business, and secure America’s border.
