One top Trump ally just unleashed hell on Jack Smith

May 2, 2024

Joe Biden prosecutor Jack Smith is under fire.

Smith is trying to throw Donald Trump in the slammer before Election Day.

But one top Trump ally just unleashed hell on Jack Smith.

Congresswoman demands investigation of Smith

Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY) wrote to the Justice Department’s Office of Professional Responsibility and demanded that they investigate Jack Smith for election interference.

“It’s obvious to any reasonable observer that Jack Smith is trying to interfere with the 2024 election and stop the American people from electing Donald Trump,” Stefanik declared.

Stefanik cited Smith’s outrageous attempt to short circuit the normal appeals process by demanding back in December that the Supreme Court jump ahead of the line and bypass the Circuit Court when Donald Trump appealed to have his 2020 election charges tossed on the grounds that he enjoyed Presidential immunity.

“This extraordinary petition sought to bypass the normal appellate process,” Stefanik wrote. “The only way to reconcile Jack Smith’s filings is to recognize that his obvious goal was not to seek justice and the neutral application of the law, but rather to get President Trump — and get him before November.”

In his motion to the Supreme Court, Smith shredded the Constitution by arguing that the right to a speedy trial rested with the government.

And Smith invoked a “public interest” for a speedy trial.

“Delay in the resolution of these charges threatens to frustrate the public interest in a speedy and fair verdict – a compelling interest in every criminal case and one that has unique national importance here, as it involves federal criminal charges against a former President for alleged criminal efforts to overturn the results of the Presidential election, including through the use of official power,” smith wrote.

The only “public interest” in a speedy trial was the Democrat Party’s interest in securing a conviction against Trump since polls showed it would tip the election in Biden’s favor.

Smith violates Department of Justice policy

Stefanik also cited Smith’s flouting of the Justice Department policy about not getting involved in politics.

The Justice Department manual says a prosecutor “may never select the timing of any action for the purpose of affecting any election, or for the purpose of giving an advantage or disadvantage to any candidate or political party.”

Yet Smith is pushing for the 2020 election and Mar-a-Lago documents case to go to trial in the middle of the General Election.

Obama Judge Tanya Chutkan was forced to yield and pause her 2020 election case while Donald Trump’s appeal for Presidential immunity worked its way through the court.

Yet Smith disregarded that order and continued to work on the case and took steps to try to keep it on track by proceeding with discovery.

“Jack Smith repeatedly flouted the District Court’s order. First, Jack Smith served nearly 4,000 pages of discovery on President Trump. Then, after the Supreme Court rejected his petition for certiorari before judgment, Jack Smith filed a motion in limine in District Court,” Stefanik added.

Jack Smith isn’t even pretending to not wage lawfare on Trump.

The only reason to push for a pre-election trial is the belief that a conviction would prevent Trump from winning the White House.
