Everything was working against Donald Trump in the sham New York criminal case.
But he could now have a new lease on life because of an unforced error.
And this New York judge made one fatal mistake that left Alvin Bragg seething with rage.

Democrats in New York searched for years after former President Donald Trump was first elected to find anything they could use to bring criminal charges against him.
The New York Attorney General, the Biden Justice Department, and the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office couldn’t find any crimes committed by the former President.
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg revived a criminal case that his predecessor wouldn’t bring forward.
Bragg concocted a highly dubious legal case claiming that falsification of business records for a payment to Stormy Daniels as part of a nondisclosure agreement – a misdemeanor where the statute of limitations had passed – can magically become a felony.
He twisted the law to claim that the falsification of business records was done in order to cover up other crimes, which he alleged were state and federal campaign finance violations and New York state tax law violations.

George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley said that New York Judge Juan Merchan could have committed a “reversible error” by allowing the prosecutors to make false claims to the jury.
“I got to tell you, I think this judge may have already committed reversible error,” Turley said during an appearance on Fox & Friends. “He could try to amend it, he could try to change it in his instructions, but that jury has now been told repeatedly that there are federal election crimes here, strongly suggesting that the payment to Stormy Daniels did violate federal election laws. That’s just not true.”
The Biden Justice Department never charged Trump for any federal campaign crimes related to the payment to Daniels.
If there was anything to charge him with, then the politicized Justice Department would have brought a case forward.
But they looked at the case and decided not to file charges.
And the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office has no jurisdiction over federal campaign finance crimes.
Bragg’s rogue prosecutors are blatantly lying to the jury in order to paint Trump in the worst possible light.
A similar situation resulted in a new trial being ordered for disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.
A New York appeals court ruled that “erroneously admitted testimony” of uncharged sex crimes in his case by the judge were “egregious errors” that required a new trial.
Turley also commented on the upcoming testimony of Bragg’s star witness, former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen, who handled the nondisclosure agreement with Daniels.
“Michael Cohen is literally going to tell that jury, ‘Please send my client to jail for following my legal advice,’” Turley said. “All of the stuff that they are talking about, he set up, he structured this and told his client that, ‘we could do this.’”
“It’s a bizarre moment,” Turley added.
Donald Trump could have just gotten the first break that he needed in the witch hunt against him in Manhattan.
