Trey Gowdy broke some bad news that Donald Trump doesn’t want to hear

Donald Trump was riding high after his blowout win in the South Carolina GOP Primary.

But former South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy interjected with a word of caution.

And Trey Gowdy broke some bad news that Donald Trump doesn’t want to hear.

Donald Trump boasts of landslide win in South Carolina Primary

Nikki Haley couldn’t even run a competitive race in her home state, where she won two gubernatorial elections.

Trump crushed Haley by 20 points and won 44 of the 50 delegates at stake as the networks called the race within seconds of the polls closing.

Trump expressed amazement at the size of his victory over Haley.

“This was an even bigger win than we anticipated,” Trump told the crowd of supporters.

Trump also declared that four straight landslide wins in Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, and South Carolina meant the GOP was coming together like never before.

“I have never seen the Republican Party so unified,” Trump exclaimed.

Trey Gowdy Claims Republican Party is Fractured

Over on Fox News, analyst Trey Gowdy was singing a different tune.

Gowdy pointed to the state of affairs in Congress – where establishment RINOs like Mitch McConnell are trying to sell out conservatives on the border, spending, and authorizing illegal Deep State spying that will be used to target Trump supporters – as well as the exit polls to argue that the GOP is anything but unified.

“Has he looked at the House of Representatives lately? I don’t see a unified Party, I see a Party where over half of Haley’s supporters right now would not vote for him,” Gowdy added.

Exit polls showed just 12 percent of Haley voters said they would be satisfied with Trump as the nominee.

And nearly 60 percent said they would not vote for him.

These numbers may be skewed by the fact that South Carolina is a truly open Primary where anyone can cast a ballot, provided they didn’t vote in the Democrat Primary.

Trump crushed Haley by 70 to 29 percent with Republicans.

Haley won Independents by 60 to 39 percent.

Democrats made up five percent of the vote, but their numbers were too small to measure.

However, it’s likely that Haley won the vast majority of these Democrat voters.

What this means is that the Haley voters who said they wouldn’t vote for Trump in a General Election were mainly left-leaning Independents and Democrats who were Joe Biden voters in 2020 and will be Biden voters again in November.
