Donald Trump has one trick up his sleeve that will drive Joe Biden crazy

Feb 21, 2024

The 2024 election is truly unprecedented.

We could be on the verge of another historic moment.

And Donald Trump has one trick up his sleeve that will drive Joe Biden crazy.

America hasn’t seen two Presidents compete against each other since 1892, when former President Democrat Grover Cleveland defeated incumbent President Republican Benjamin Harrison.

Joe Biden openly admitting that he needs his weaponized Justice Department to convict Donald Trump before the election only added to the chaotic nature of this contest.

But Donald Trump may be considering a wrinkle of his own.

Joe Biden is set to deliver the State of the Union on March 7.

Networks are obligated to televise the GOP response.

House Speaker Mike Johnson and RINO Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell will select the Republican who will deliver the Party’s official response to Joe Biden.

And Donald Trump’s allies are reportedly considering having him do the honors.

“Aides and allies close to former President Trump have discussed the former President giving the official Republican response to President Joe Biden’s March 7 State of the Union address, according to five people familiar with the talks,” NBC News reported.

“Two of the sources said that Trump himself has discussed it, but both said he is leaning against the high-profile gig,” NBC News also reported.

Trump delivering the GOP response comes with major risks and rewards.

On the positive side, the networks couldn’t censor Trump since equal time laws mandated they televise his speech.

Delivering the official GOP response would be the only time outside of his convention speech that networks would be forced to broadcast his remarks to the public.

But there are also major downsides.

The official response is a thankless task.

The President delivers the State of the Union to a full House Chamber filled with cheering lawmakers and members of the Supreme Court in attendance.

Whoever gives the GOP response is standing by themselves in a room with a camera and no audience.

The contrast in settings makes whoever gives the GOP response look like a rookie.

Getting tapped to deliver the response can derail careers.

Bobby Jindal’s stilted response to Barack Obama’s 2009 address to Congress led to a Saturday Night Live Parody that he never recovered from.

In 2013, Marco Rubio reaching for a bottle of water in the middle of his remarks led to a long-running joke that Donald Trump used to great effectiveness in the 2016 GOP Primary.

Trump advisors downplayed the idea of him giving the GOP response.

“This is complete bulls**t and proves the fake news will literally run anything based on their own imaginations,” top aide Jason Miller told NBC.
